Hi everyone,
first off english is not my mother tongue so if u dont understand somethig please tell me.
i got an auto blue pyramid that sprouted in 18 hours, tomorrow i want to plant her but 2 days ago my paranoia began.
I have 2 pots of basil, 1 alone and the second with mint n peppers
The first one, 2 days ago started to be limp
i thought it was over watering so no big probs.
today i checked him and the leaves were black. ok sooty mold, byebye basil.
The big pot with other plants has a bunch of parasits, rly small, transparent or red but no damages.
I think aphids.
but they are only in the soil, none in the leaves. I know that aphids can get sooty mold to plants but my case is weird.
So, i have some questions, can sooty mold attack mj? isnt safe to place her outside? u know some cheap methods or diy pesticides?

I think @912GreenSkell or @Waira will be able to answer your question. There are all sorts of treatments for mites, aphids and fungus and mold. Not knowing where you live it’s impossible to know what froducts are available to you. I darn sure wouldn’t any plants in the area where those other plants were and I wouldn’t use the soil you used for those other plants unless you have NEW bags that have t been exposed to the sick plants OR the bags where their soil cane from - it may be infected.

If you have sooty mold, you’ve got a bug problem - 99.999% sure: https://floridamarijuana.net/identify-sooty-mold-issues-cannabis-cultivation/ Serenade, Spinozad soap and FoxFarm insecticide are what I use to try and keep bug problems from setting in. I’m not sure how good they’re goig to be if you have a full blown infestation. I think you’ll need something stronger. Jorge Cervantes has a terrific video on mite control here: I’d follow the guy featured (Will) from the Sungrown Growers Guild and his product recommendations.

If you have a problem with bugs, do t expose more plants to them until you get them eliminated or under control. Hope this helps and I’m sure one of those grow masters I linked above will show up and give you better advice.

:toke:...well, without pics, it's difficult to say which pest this is,.. in the case of the ones in/on the soil, but not the plant-- and you are positive of this- then, that could be soil mites... they aren't a danger to the plants in fact, they eat soil detritus/bacteria,....
The basil that had sooty mold, that sounds like aphids (if they were large enough to see with the eye easily), possibly mites,.. I suspect aphids though, because they exude a sugary liquid... this often attracts ants, which then protect them like they were their herd! But with nothing there to eat the "dew", it's lands on the leaf and becomes perfect fodder for mold/mildew... yes, if you get an aphid infestation on the cannabis, you'll invite it for sure....
DTom has made a good call,... really it comes down to what you can get... aphids are easy to kill, even a mild soap spray with a dash of alcohol will cut them down,.. a strong spray can knock many off physically,...
... the mites need to be confirmed that the cannabis isn't infested yet; you will need to look very very closely, with a magnifier glass/hand lens..... soil mites, you can ignore or scrape away surface soil to remove many of them,...

Actually, you covered it quite well @DTOM420 !! I am not the bug expert, i will let the king of insects waira take care of any additional information

:pass:Don Skelly! ......:shooty:

...about to go redo an update after that scary server snafu!

Thanks everyone
The basil with mold died tho.
Iv replanted them all, roots were so big and they were suffocating
Also tryied the spray and no more mites or problems with other plants
Btw accidentaly some nutes fell on the mj leaves and she is dying

I guess you are right that sooty mald attac mj. And unfortunately, it is very hard to make a diy pesticides and I don't even think that it will be cheaper then buying remedies.
