Hello all,

I am about 6 days away from harvesting my purple kush and probably 14 days away from harvesting the northern lights. I need to dry in my tent do to odor. If I harvest the PK and put it in brown paper bags to dry in the tent (off the ground so the bags won't get wet) will it be okay? I have pretty low RH 30-40% since it's winter here the air is dry. I know light can and will degrade thc so maybe double bagged in the tent to prevent light degradation? Any advice is appreciated !

A trip to MacDonalds is called for their paper bags are perfect for slow dry. Just keep an eye on it and let it breath everyday for a while, also don't put too much in the bag a third full is good

will it be okay?

Twill be fine Sir... I do it that way A Lot of the time....:Sharing One:

I use "Primark" brown bags you can get a few ounces in the bigger ones....:Sharing One:

Thanks for the quick response guys, much appreciated. I figured it would be fine but had to double check - I hope I even have a few ounces to harvest.

Im planning on doing the exact same thing wooly. Did you end up doing this? How is that Purp drying?

I tried a few different ways of drying my first grow and the easiest by far has been in a brown bag in my grow room. I have the bag hanging at the top of the room above the lights and found it takes 5 days to dry 1.5oz in a brown bag around 50%rh. Grocery store brown bag is what im using

agreed much easier than my hanging to dry, think it helps lock in smell. I did open it once a day and rotate them I've read they can get flat and other says no but it was a small enough yield to not be an inconvience.

I did try this, and will do it again. The purple Kush is coming along nicely, not the best looking PK on AFN but still happy with it and myself. The NL is looking really good, swollen, sticky, pretty good sugar coverage and is looking around 2.5oz, the quality I expected of these genetics and my growing. I'm very excited to see what some of the newer genetics I have that will produce the high end.

I am all about the brown bagging it. 5 days then to the jars. Check with hygrometer above 70 back to the bags for 12-24 hrs then jar an burb. Has been working like a charm. Totally stole that from the curing tech. Good luck with things. Sounds like they are moving along nicely! :slap:

So I have some pretty large plants that's are coming down today. I'm at week 10 of flowering and some trichomes are just beginning to go amber. I want to use yard cleanup bags since it's what I have and it seems to fit the best for my current needs. I'm thinking about cutting the plants at the base and sticking each plant into their own large bags. Would this work? Or should i trim the individual buds from main stems and dry them that way? Just trying to get an idea of what would be most appropriate here. Thanks in advance for any input.

Best to chop colas up in to golf ball sized nuggs and only line the bottom of the bags with buds don't over fill them as it could result in mould
