Above all remember that poppies are weeds even more so that marijuana! They like good drainage but also are hard to over fertilize, the suck it up like crazy! If you go with the organic route it leaves the soil depleted of all nutrients by harvest time unless you really keep up with it... As far as it being dry the only issue is getting them started, other than that the do fine in drought conditions once established. just make sure to water at least once or twice a week once they are through the lettuce stage and even if the soil looks dry they should be fine, they are very resilient plants...

It's may be late to start for Christmas harvest unless you have it dialed in really well IMO, you may have a quick variety but they do take a bit to grow... Good luck though they may be ready for the big day! :thumbs:

That sir is a Hens and Chicks variety, I have some near identical pics earlier in the thread, one of my favorite types! :booya: Here are some of mine back when I had blooms...
