Hello guys! I have not been around here in a long time, and I remember Mephisto being some of the best auto's I grew indoors. I am limited to outdoor this year and I'd like to grow some of these again. How do they fair outside? I live in California so climate is great! My main concern is pests, as I have limited outdoor experience. How are yields in a 5-10 gallon pot? Thanks in advance guys!

Well every year I watch my friend Trailanimal grow autos outdoors in Alaska an he does really well so with cali weather your plants should do really well.

Trailanimal is a beast at growing hes definitely got skills but environment does play a major role for instance an Oregon growers style would differ from.a southern California style because of the factor Oregon is a very wet state most of its trees an mountainous regions mold an mildew are more of a problem in my are but maybe I get less rain an.moisture then Canada an if growing in those conditions I would have to make more changes.

Ill have to look up trailanimal and check out his grow threads. Yea thankfully I wont have to worry about to much moisture, just mainly bugs...which I hate lol. Ill check out your oregon grow too. :) :pass:

Not really if you think about. In the summer in Alaska they get 18-24 hours of daylight for like 2 months straight! Can you imagine how massive you could possibly get an autoflower with 18-24 hours of the best light source on earth everyday?

Well I forgot about that part, and secondly I was mainly thinking about the temperatures. That trips me out they get so many hours of light during that time. Thats nuts! I am a little jealous lol. Id love to grow some autoflowers in 18-24 hours of actual sunlight. Grow a few heavyweight auto's.

I've had solid grow results in SoCal, but this last outside run bugs were a problem, particularly spider mites. And due to coastal weather, even though almost always a nice breeze, had my most dense nugs develop bud rot (I had no idea).

No expert here, but my outdoor grow in north central British Columbia was plagued with mold, slugs, and fungus gnats even with a roof over the planters. The weather sucked, but still... I may try outdoor again sometime, but may not because of the extra hassle with pests. If I were to try another grow outside, I would try to stay away from strains that produce large central colas sensitive to mold. Mephisto Cosmic Queen would be a good bet if my current grow is any indication - a very tasty daytime smoke, and an ideal growth form for avoiding mold issues in my opinion.

:goodluck: :pighug:Good luck with it, I envy the climate you will have to work with.
