He started in what looked like 1.5-2litre pots, then transplanted direct into the ground at about 2.5 weeks.
That photo is from 65 days, he mentioned harvesting soonish as he doesn't want to risk mould.

I don't know about the weather in Italy but we've had the traditional to us , stormy August, we've had to clear several trees that blew over onto our road and our poly tunnel covers get trounced :/
