Out of control Autoflower!!

Dude.... she’s a monster! (and mouth watering)
Great job, especially in soil and a small pot

I wish I had the space to let her spread out. Mine is all squished against the walls and it’s a jungle in there lol. So many lower buds aren’t getting enough light and space to develop nicely like yours
Thanks. Normally I just do 2 plants in either 3 or 5 gallon. That run I tried more plants in smaller pots so couldnt train like I normally do. She would do well in a scrog. Only issue is I only smoke rosin now, and she doesn't yield well and hard to collect. Rosin is great just not a great strain for pressing, better for tinctures then into rso.

it is true that green crack auto is not so good for extracts, it is better as buds. Taste and flavour are great but not so much extract production.

I can't think of a reason why extracts from this wouldn't be good.
My experience is the extracts are awesome, they just dont yield well tho. Also the 2 I did were hard to collect rosin, very runny not yielding much. For someone like me who doesn't smoke flower not a good strain from strictly pressing rosin. Bho or tincture would yield better than rosin so those are better options for extraction. Never smoked the flower but I'm sure it's good too. I think @Kinezokyprios meant it's not an optimal strain for extraction not that the strain was bad, I think lol.

Green crack is my favourite. Breeder is fast buds. Every grow I have at least one in the tent. I try to contain it by using maximum 7 litre pots, but it gets huge even in 3 litre pots. With LST and careful pruning the average I get from a plant is 180 grams (I have approached a few times the 300 grams limit with 11 litre pots), in 3 litre pots and SOG with a little defoliation I get around 130 grams (with bigger pots 200 grams is common). Most of the time my grows are SOG. And I always use soil and organic nutrients. As long as the roots are healthy and have space to spread, the strain is super productive. You can also top it multiple times successfully. If you use 3000k lights and lower potassium nutrients at seedling stage then the cuttings from topping are sufficiently big (stretched) to clone and they do root fast around 10 days in plain water, less with cloning hormones.

Sorry to revive this old(ish) post but I’m hoping to draw on your extensive Green Grack experience. Have you had any phenos with purple leaves in the past? Reason I ask my top leaves (closest to lights) are starting to turn purple. Top colas are only about 15cm from the LED COBs. Overall plant seems happy in full flower. I’m very careful to catch any issues quickly during this crucial stage. All parameters seem to be in check.
Temps are mainly around 25C, humidity 40-60%, PH 5.9-6.2, lights 18/6
Cheers

Start by putting the lights higher. A distance of 40 cm is ideal. You can lower to 20cm at a later stage.
It is a heat issue for sure, but it is strange since purple is more associated with cold.
The strain (both photo and auto) is a skunk #1 phenotype basically so purple is a bit strange as coloration.
Is your light 4000K? Sometimes this reaction happens with this light spectrum. A similar phenomenon happens to dinafem and pyramid seeds strains, when you move them to a 3000K light the leaf tips turn yellow, but it is not a nutrient burn. So I guess a colour change towards a light spectrum is not impossible.
The other explanation, a rare case, is phosphorous deficiency, but it would have started with stems turning purple. And again it would be a temperature issue, too cold usually. Again we go back to the first possibility, that it is a heat issue.
Start by moving the lights higher and we will see.

Thanks for the response
Heat was my guess as well, but I expected to see some other signs too (drooping etc) but all in all, she looks pretty happy and healthy. I’d be lucky to get max 20cm with my height restriction and a very tall plant. Might have to dim the lights or reduce 1 COB to manage the issue.
I’ve also had a plant turn really purple late in flower when winter set in but never in heat.
My lights are 3500K.
You mentioned purple stems.... the main stems look normal but the fan leaf stems towards the top do look purple. Some photos attached to show the condition.
I will raise lights to maximum height and also do a res change with fresh nutrient mix

Leaf stems are OK. It is main stems and branches turning purple that shows a fake phosphorous deficiency due to cold. Buds too.
Seems your leaves were getting sun tanned :smoking: after all. Could well be something like this since 4000K is like the sun in mid summer and 3500K early September.
Raise the lights temporarily but don't dim or remove part of your set up. It is really nothing to worry about much.

thanks for the reassurance. The buds are developing nicely and starting to look + smell delicious
The plant overall looks happy and healthy except dark purple leaves on top, so I’ll just let it steam ahead...
Another 3 weeks takes me to 16 weeks and I’m hoping for harvest. Will post some pics for my future reference and also for those interested in this beautiful strain
