Live Stoner Chat Other hobbies and men's best friend pix!

Artists are certainly weird and baffling :smoking: That is cool your lad works with wood, I have seen some great stuff by friends that work with it. Anything people make is amazing tho.

Just don't be Wacken das Schnitzel here!

There are a few good metal festivals around here, but the biggest one is at the same time as the biggest industrial one so never been to it. I'm more into black and death metal tho but it's all good stuff. My music taste is pretty crazy, I had Lana Del Rey come on right after Cannibal Corpse one day

Awww damn that is cute, one of my friends had a couple tanks with frogs, snails shrimp etc. it was great to smoke a few and just watch them. I could sit on the floor and do that for hours :smoking:
Exactly ;-)

Well for me when I actually get a chance and my car isn't broken, I have an rc truck that I race. Which cost more than a real car to keep going lol. Other than that family and life keeps me busy.

oh man I used to love RC cars. I had built a traxxas jato that did 68mph. Cost me a few grand when done but it was a blast.

This is a great thread!!! My whole life is a hobby.

One of my most recent hobbies may sound boring but in my eyes it’s the most fascinating thing going. I’m building a “PowerWall” similar to what Tesla sells but to my own specs and saving quit a bit of money doing so. Nothing better than soldering a busbar to connect 5000 18650 lithium batteries.

Are they airhorns?

Myself as well, that looks cool but I want to know how it works :smoking:
I looked it up, you power your house with it, but whats with the horns? I'm intrigued.

Yep,gonna need more infos on the airhorns and compressor...???...or is it a compressor? Not sure what i'm looking at...
Are they airhorns?

I was trying to post my favorite hobby. I started by loading those pictures and thought I deleted them but they attached some how. Air horns are a close second to my battery addiction. This is basically a kit that can be purchased as is but I actually built it myself from parts at hornblasters.com . Nathan air chime is a legitimate train horn and they cost a small fortune. This setup is 1.7 decibels quieter than the train horn. A similar sound too. It’s a small 2 gallon air tank and a 100% duty cycle compressor powering the hand tuned horns. I won’t get to deep into the reasoning for it all but it actually didn’t start as just a horn. I bought everything so I could run air directly from my truck. Next I wanted to power it by removable batteries that would also act as AC power through an inverter. I haven’t personally seen an all inclusive truck capable of supplying air and ac power. To power the batteries I was planning on installing flexible low profile solar panels on the roof of my truck and as a backup an isolator on my main battery with switch so my alternator could charge them. It would overwork the alternator so it wouldn’t be used as the primary charging but a good backup if needed.

Sorry for the confusion. The PowerWall I’m building wont look like this when completed lol. “18650” lithium batteries are similar looking batteries as the standard double AA batteries but Operate a little differently. Also used in most vape devices and as laptop batteries Ext. I’m planning on doing this as short term backup power and also a way to avoid the permanent solar red tape. I’d be charging my own batteries with solar and then be using the batteries as power for my house. Basically working around needing a meter or a bi-directional meter. The key to it all is it would be that it’s removable and can be expanded at any rate. If I were to move which I’m planning on doing soon I can also take it with me.

I bought the new redcat terremoto 10 v2 and then spent almost 300 on upgrades. Fastest I've been able to control it was 53mph. But I've got a new receiver that's supposed to help correct my steering at high speeds. Another 150 for that and controller so I can operate all the lights I put on it. Also I had an old razor Walmart rc I stole the body and wheels from. Still not done upgrading either. I want the aluminum hop up next.

Sounds awesome! I'll need some pics when done though.
