Old vs New

I had been brewing EWC tea for this grow with a bag about a year old.

Just bought a new bag and OMG the foam!

This is less that 24 hrs of brewing.

I surmise that newer EWC is better than older for microbial activity. I wasn't getting this much before.

Foam is not a good indicator of microbial activity in teas. However, your old EWC may have lower microbial biomass due to improper storage/watering over the course of the year or lack of food for the microbes so it's entirely possible the newer material is better to brew with (just not because of the foam). Thanks. I was wondering about that.
I was also told that kelp extract foams and this bag has that in it.
