New Grower ok, so ive got my mother in law coming in a week or so...problem!

the title pretty much explains it all. my mother in law is coming to visit my wife and I, and she will be here on Day 18 out of the soil for my baby girls. Needless to say I dont want her to know what i have in my spare bedroom..haha..anyhow, shes gonna just think that the locked bedroom is for storage. Im wondering, generally when do they start to stink? She'll be here for 4 days, days 18-21, flying out on day 21. Im assuming that I should probably get that carbon filter before she gets here huh? when they start to stink, its a gradual thing right? its just gonna smell a little at first right? haha I sure hope so! :no:

Growbewan, I have a plant who was planted on February 14th, and she still does not really stink too bad, If you get up close and smell her or touch her then smell your fingers it stinks but when I walk into my room or open my grow box door, I cannot smell her. I know it is probably different with different strains and maybe someone will tell you more then me but I wouldn't be too worried about the smell. I don't think it will stink up the house by that age.

definitely strain dependent, I am growing auto ak-48's and my room smells like a skunk, that was in heat, that got hit by a car, and was out in the sun for 2 days.

Should have got that carbon filter before you started your grow. It's one of those things you really don't want to panic buy at the last minute. Now go get one quick! Don't forget, with carbon filters you get what you pay for, don't skimp.

Oh, I almost forgot. It is strain dependent, some gradually stink more and some just punch you in the nose one day.

I agree, it's strain dependent and does gradually increase. At that point in the grow I doubt they will be smelling too much yet, at least not to the point where they will stink up the whole house.

I am still looking for the stinkiest auto. I grew hymala diesel and it smelled. Anthing anyone has grown to out stink that one? I got my ex wife coming to visit and I want her to get a good whiff.

Hi growbewan, Another thing to consider is the noise from the carbon filter. Will mother in law not only wonder why the bedroom is locked but also about the sound of a fan running also.

Just tell her you got a mold problem in the spare bedroom caused by a leak and your runnin the fan to dry it up and the doors locked to keep people out so they don't breathe the mold lol. It might work?
