Budget growing, totally my style! Wanna hook up some supplementary lighting, what do people reckon on these?

Look like the Chinese ones, burn out is 10% so make sure you can get replacements. Also watch when you unscrew as you can separate the base from the reflector, which also screws on lol

Good eye! They are indeed them chinese ones lol I got the specs for them and did some maths.
And 300w of these would equal 17,000 lumens
did a search on my 300w cfl and it puts out around 24,000.
This doesnt seem right?

It's probably right my led bulbs put out close to 100 lumens a watt or so they claim. So 16 bulbs putting out 1500 lumens each =2400 at 250w but I think it is probably better than that because of taking off the diffusers

Hey people, I just built myself a LED panel using off the shelf LED bulbs.
It is quite rugged, but so far it works fine.

Just popping in to say i've been using cree screw ins to grow basil and it's working out pretty well. 4000k, I think.

I can get 9 watt 3000k bulbs for a $1 a piece. Do I need to get some 5000k to go with them and if so what ratio do you recommend? Also does anybody know where to get medium sockets cheap?

I say yes on the 5k, sockets I cant help you with because it depends on where u are at.

I always switched my cfl out completely, i would say even amount or 60% 3k. Any hardware store, sometimes a small local one would be better.

You can get the sockets at home depot or lowes.
