My first post and awhile since I used autos. I have three Blue ace CBD autos going.

1 is dwc, and two in smart pots.

The idea was to see if I can do a few things.
a. Actually make a relative mark in the ppm content of co2 by using 3 bags in a 2x2
b. Give it actual light that if the Co2 works, should be of use.
c. Dwc is cool and now I get to see a three way with coco.
d. Apply all this small scale with an auto low energy.

Lights out right now. 20/4.

Will get photos

Have a great day. Please give me your thoughts. Shit light maybe? The exhale bags! Too small a space?

What could go wrong.....

Nothing wrong with that light, but you might need to dim it or lift it a ways, especially early in the grow. I damn near bought one of them myself.

I assume that you know that the tent needs to be pretty well sealed to get much out of CO2? If you need air exchange to deal with temp or humidity, you could be tossing most of your CO2. If your space is small with three plants, you are going to need air exhaust unless you use a dehumidifier, and fitting one of those into a 2x2 would be a challenge.

Unless you have serious mileage in this business, you might be better focusing on other aspects of the grow rather than trying to make CO2 work in a small space.

No offense meant, just theoretical musings from a noob, but one that has dug into this stuff for a while. i will be interested to see what other more experienced growers have to say here. Good luck with your grow, I look forward to seeing what you decide and how you make out. :goodluck:

I agree olderfart focus on other aspects like the environment getting that perfect is more important, great light also i have 2 plants in a 2.5x2.5 and theres no room at all i think 3 is gonna be a tight squeeze.
Looking forward to seeing how this turns out

Yeh they look so innocent when their young then boom. I think your right about space. The tent is sealed. Gorilla taped in certain areas. Do I know my baseline and ppm now? No. And this is a huge issue. I am working to rent one. As I want to use a good one but 300 bucks is alot for a bag test.

I run the simple hps setup in my other tent. I just thought this little guy might actually hold some co2. I will move to another tent if they get too big.

Thanks for the replies and interest!

There are people who pull 2-4lbs in a 4x4 without c02 and the average 400ppm.

You've sealed the room with tape, can you measure your ppms? Do you have controllers for environment so that you aren't running 800ppm at 75f and 25% humidity. VPD at the leaf surface helps make full use of c02.

Without controlled hvac and humidity plus a c02 controller money and resources are just getting wasted. I always fall into the habit hole of researching c02 but it isn't something for small scale growers to do and most don't have the resources to do it.

I'm starting to see that. It's too bad I hear such amazing things of co2 done right. And until I get an atlas or better meter then I will not even regard that aspect of this grow. No numbers no evidence.

So just the dwc vs coco and the performance of the mars ts1000. And of course this strain and my relative noobieness to autos. See photo (Day7veg) RH% is not correct it's wet and lights just turned on. The temp and RH is 86f @ 75% RH :O But this is still going down and its on top of the dwc bucket which i don't trust. Give me some time to get readings from around the tent and average.

Mars Hydro interested people I enclosed a photo, it is the last harvest of a photo-period plant (Strawberry cough) from a ts1000. Nice dense and colorful.

- A weak point in this light is the driver being too close to the action in my opinion. It's clearly meant to be mounted external. So I did. See photo.

You're going to hear all kinds of amazing things but most aren't suitable for the average grower.

What kind of temps and humidity are you running now? Mixing two different mediums in a small tent is going to be challenging?

How big of plants are you planning on growing as when they get big they transpire and humidity levels will rocket up just when you want them lower for flower?

You are getting good info here - You might wanna get that second tent ready!

Yes I think you all knew what was going to happen and it just doesn't work. I cannot get humidity down. Temps are fine but I don't know co2 level. No heat stress but F this.

Throwing out the exhales, going to a ventilated tent. Aiming for 24-26 c 50% rh (Please advise if not good for autos)
Lights are at 20/4 (This is what delicious recommends)
Take with a grain of salt my lux reading of the light but its what I get. I have read they are pretty accurate.

Yes probably using a different growing medium in the same tent isn't great. But I will have more in control now so all should get what they need. If not I will make provisions.

I will break out the other tent for the two cocos if needed.

Thanks for the advice, I will check in weekly but probably more often. See what a ts1000 can do!

Photos are -

Lux reading of MH TS1000 @ 20"

Complete climate breakdown

Day 8 for the Ace Autos - The back left one and the de-humidifier had a difference of opinion. Snapped at the stem but healed.

You want RH up around 65 percent even 70 percent for young ones - I would aim for 65 percent and temps around 80-85 degrees for first few weeks then ,over to 78-82 degrees ...... and then when Flower time comes RH 55% and temps 76-78 or so - depends on strain but general guidelines - check out this Vapor Pressure Difference temp / Rh guideline

I would keep co2 in tent, won’t hurt and it’s paid for but if you do toss out, slice bag and put in your garden, worms love that stuff ..... put bags above fan or near fan and blow down, co2 is heavier than air and will fall down

back left is overwatered in my opinion - don’t water for a few days, she should perk up - mistake some make is thinking she needs more water .....

good luck with adjustments and girls will be fine in that tent for now until they grow - maybe add a second or even third fan if possible to help get RH and Temps in line .....
