Thanks for popping in and taking a read. Im a new grower, any always open up to suggestions and listening to what everyone has to say. But anyways on with the juicy part I started germination March 15th, planted into soil March 17th and sprouted March 18th.

So equiptment that im currently running with is:

Homemade box- 2.5ft W x 2.5ft L x 5ft H

Light- Mars Hydro 48 Reflector (240W) on 20hr on - 4hr off cycle.

Carbon Filter- Iobonics 4" inline fan with Carbon filter combo

Soil-Nutes:

Fox Farm Happy Frog mixed with Giaia Green 444 & 284 veg-bloom. I have mixed nutrients prior to putting in the seedling however, I wrote it down exactly how much and will update later. Along with my top dressing plan.

Watering:

Im using tap water unfortunately, but I pour 3gals into a bucket and place by the window for 24hrs. I used a spa water sample tester and eliminated majority of the chlorine and balanced out the pH to the correct levels. For the first week after germination I only spray the surrounding area till its moist twice a day. Now I water about 700mls 1-2 days depending on how dry the medium is.

Seed:

Nothern Lights Auto Fem from King Crop seeds. I only planted one, as I wasnt to test and adjust accordingly till I have everything somewhat of an idea of what im doing till dailed in.

Atts and Dets:

6" Clip fan
2 x bowels with hand rags to regulate RH. (Ghetto but somewhat effective, will purchase a mister in the future.

Orders end

Feel free to give any advice or ask questions!

This is day 9 since sprouting, slightly concerned about the rate of growth at this point.

i think we all get the rulers out for the first grow :toke:

maybe a bit slow but nice and healthy looking mate. bet it's been hard work watching her push out that first set of serrated leaves? :pop:

think the meter reads 60F temps, if that's your average it needs to come up some 10 degrees.

welcome to AFN bud :pass:

Its usually 79-80F in there but does dip down too 60F during the night period. But yes your absolutely correct, its driving me batty haha and im just keeping a record for myself for future grows. I was thinking about throwing my heat mat in there. The mat doesnt get too hot at all. And has a soil thermometer and thermostat

try and avoid too much swing in the temps, 60 is the absolute coldest you want to expose her to.

heat mat might help but not needed if you hit 80 already imo. is the box you've constructed within a warmer room or something like a garage? wondering about floor temps, pot/root zone likes warmth, cold floors like to suck that warmth right out!

Yes its a wooden box in the basement. However I have it on pallets to keep it off the floor. And the heat mat will be off during the 20hr light cycle, only to be turned on during 4hrs of "darkness". Everything that I have that requires electricity is hooked into a handy dandy wifi bar. Which I found for a reasonable price and works amazingly. Everything is set a timer thats built into a app on my phone. And turn everything off-on anywheres as long as I have a connection

not much else to do now then matey, she ought to pick up the pace soon enough.

Heres hoping so, im done paying ridiculous prices for something that can be grown in the basement. Plus its an adventure thou fuatrating at times [emoji6] Ill see how this goes for the next few days and ill do an update friday-saturday. Gonna be away for bit teaching officers in the great outdoors lol

Hello @warren.thurston and :welcome: to AFN....firstly....Niiice grow box dude...well built :d5:.....9 days does seem a bit slow but it's not uncommon for a seedling to grow slow in a big pot....she is probably rooting out...:pass:
Ok, by "rooting out" im assuming that means the plant is focusing on developing the root system rather then the plant itself? I watched Mr.Canucks on youtube and he directly plants the seeds into 3gal pots even for germination. And they take off like monsters, but he is alot more thorough.
