Hey all,
I just wrapped up my Cherry Cola grow and decided to start another Fastbuds strain in my next run. This time I am going with Kosher Cake. I soaked seed for 24 hours, popped her into root riot cube in solo cup and transplanted quickly after into 1 gallon pot. I usually don't use the solo cup in the mix but thought I might not be able to get them in tent for a few days longer than normal. I always try to transplant early before roots hit cup or tray and I can usually get that done with just a Root Riot cube.
Picture is on what I am calling day 3. She stretched more than I would like before I got her in tent under decent light. I need to upgrade my germination chamber with better lighting so it can accommodate plants longer with less stretch. Soil is straight Fox Farm Ocean Forest with her only buffer being that little Root Riot cube. I will do PHed water only for about 3 weeks and then start nutes. I have some Advanced Nutrients bottles along with some Cold War Organics stuff I will use up on this grow starting around week 3.
I will top her between day 15-21 and I will use LST clips (tomato clips off Amazon) to try to spread her out some. I defoliate throughout the grow and shoot for around 20% amber depending on occupancy. Follow along and lets see what I get. I will also log this grow on Grow Diaries and be entering my hat into their month meme contest, etc.
I have most of Fastbuds current catalog and just getting the selection for this pot down to 3 was very difficult. When Kosher Cake was released I knew immediately it was one I had to have. While Fastbuds doesn't not publish linage, when I hear Kosher Cake I think of Kosher Kush x ? Cake Variety. I have never had the pleasure of smoking Kosher Kush but when I first started growing I became obsessed and during some podcast or round table they were talking about how Kosher Kush was a favorite of the guest and it just won some Cup. It made me take note and want to try when I can.
Right after taking this photo, I potted into a 1 gallon pot and put in tent. Update in a week!
