New Grower Noob question about the smell...

I'm into herbs and medicinal plants and that's one of the reasons why I started growing Cannabis. (of course, there's OTHER reasons as well )

I'm a real noob and today I harvested buds from my first disastrous grow (Green Poison).

While I was getting rid of some dead leaves and such, I was soooooooo overwhelmed by the smell!!!! I have some dried buds I bought and they smell so lovely but these fresh ones I grew for the first time, they are somewhat different!! By the time I finished cleaning them up, I was feeling dizzy and slightly sick

Are the smell so different depending on the strain?

A lot of difference, in the smell, taste, and high, between strains. I have never felt ill from trimming, or preparing marijuana though. You will also notice a change, in smell, and taste, during the curing process.

Hmmm, do you have any recommendations for something with not too strong smell, hopefully with somewhat sweetish & relaxing one?

Wow, they are so many strains out there, look at a website that sells seeds. The usually have a good desription of smell and taste.....

Nothing like smoking on your own buds....

the jems by mossy have a fresh flower smell to them..... i would suggest it if you don't like an overpowering smell. good luck man

I have never had a harvest my sluts are about a month old lol. But i was also a lil surprised with the strength of the smell soon as my flowering started i feel like Pepé Le Pew moved in and took a huge dump on my floor.

the "low odor classic" responses are northern lights and c99 (many people don't seem to find this relaxing..)

ime sativas are generally less aromatic than indicas. as far as autos go, kannabia's hobbit is super low odor all the way through. nice bud too.


and, as always, if you ever have an odor problem you need to take care of, water with white vinegar. i wouldn't recommend using it all the way through a grow. it will make a dramatic difference.

I didn't know that. I assume you mix white vinegar in the water you give to the plant, not spray it around the room?

I've never heard of this, could you explain your reasoning? Magpie, if you water with vinegar it's going to drop your ph and potentially hurt your plant. Make sure you know how to regulate your ph before trying something like that.
