So I'm totally new to this and have some typical noob questions, hoping to find someone with the patience to babysit.

I'm going to start an indoor grow in 2-3 weeks in a 4x8x7 tent. My first and most basic question is how many autos would fit in there? I'm allowed up to 12 so I was thinking 10-12 but I'm not sure they would fit. I was looking at Auto Night Queen and Auto Blueberry from Dutch Passion if that makes a difference.

Ideally I would like to mix an organic soil that takes care of most of the feeding and add nutes as needed. I'm pretty overwhelmed with all the different recipes for soil and was hoping someone could recommend a simple mix that would be ready to use in a couple weeks. A list of stuff I might need to feed later would also be greatly helpful.

I have more but I don't want to pile on here, thanks in advance for any help.

you're new to growing cannabis? Start with 4 plants, keep it simple, don't do a large spend, get a reputable grow book, document what you're doing, sort it out, repeat with lessons learned. Then scale up as you get more experienced.

That's all you need for the next year or so, you don't need a babysitter.

And good luck. It's a fun and rewarding hobby. :)

good advice from Cap cold. start on a smaller scale, four plants. how many will fit in your space, depends on pot size . small pots, small plants.
whatever medium you decide to use, for autos NO nutrients in your starting soil. no feeding until second week, then minute amounts at first, with no more than half of what you think they will need. my simple mix is 66% promix bx. and 33% coarse perlite. amended per gallon with 15ml. of espoma gardentone for veggies , 15ml. azomite. and 15ml earth juice myco.
in four gallon pots. my autos are sometimes four to five feet tall.

this girl was 5ft tall from Shortstuff seeds.
had some stitch genetics, from his super auto collection a few years back. feel free to ask any questions. but remember, you will get many answers not all will be good advice.
the tough part will be to choose who's answers you listen to.

These guys are right starting small may help but it depends, if you mess up with 1-2 plants then you will only be cropping 2plants which obvs sucks for a 10 week wait. You could easily fit 10-12 plants. IMO go for 10 in 20l buckets, I was only in here the other day enquiring about soil. I’m no pro but all mixes I have had are only good for a few weeks and then extra nutrients is needed. If I was you I would look for a post here called “ tangs basic feeding schedule” something like that I never used his basic version but his advanced version was very helpful he only uses a+b and some voodoo juice in the basic and still grew some monsters that might be your anchor for your first grow good luck buddy. Ps pay close attention to leaves spotting issues before they really develop will be your make or break (normally cal-mag soil ph issues)

Ohh and if your growing Dutch passion don’t leave out the auto Colorado cookies I have personally grown the night queen and I would grow the cookies over her 7 out 10 time
