No Trichomes!!!

:vibe::::UPDATE::: As Trichome production appears to be a defensive reaction to UV-B stress, I have switched to a 24hr light schedule for this plant. removing it from the tent and placing it under different LED lights that I know have UV-B diodes. I am hoping the different lights and the 4 hours outside the tent will cause sufficient stress to promote a Trichome producing reaction....... And so far after just 2 days I can see a few trichomes appearing, and the dark green leaves are beginning to fade.

Not my first grow but by no means an expert...

I have a White widow Auto, from Seedsman. 11 weeks and 5 days. Looks healthy enough and never had any issues apart from when it was a seedling and looked a bit mutant, .....although the leaves have always been unusually dark.

The issue is I can't see any Trichomes, none !! .....and I expected to by this stage.

The LST has produced several fairly even sized and decent looking colas that are slowly starting to fatten up....but none of this amazing frosting I keep reading about.

It is a soil grow, using Fox farms trio nutes, extra bat guano/worm castings as occasional top feed, and molasses (sometimes) PPM on last measurement of run off was about 1400 (it had been higher a few weeks a got before I got a ppm meter.)

temperatures are high here, average about 33 C and humidity about 60%, but that was partly why I chose this strain as it is supposed to be happy in higher temps.

Just cut down (last week) a GSC Auto planted at the same time, in same tent.....with lots of trichomes.

is it just a question of patience ?...I have seen some grow diaries for this strain that go as far as week 16 before harvest.
My royal dwarf did the same, it’s really spitting them out now though a week later.

Looks like you may just need another week or so and they should strat appearing.

update: well it is still alive (just)..... there are very small trichomes now which have turned cloudy. the buds are big but airy and don't seem to be fattening out. I have tried everything....

will harvest tomorrow. Not a total loss I may end up with a couple of OZ of airy skinny buds.

thanks for all the input.

I've also seen diaries that have ww autos at 14 weeks. I'm on the 79 day with mine ww, autos, and one is pretty much ready and the other is maybe 2 weeks away. So, you'll never know.

Final Update:

after drying out a little piece, it seems (surprisingly) to be very strong......:what?::what?::what?:

It was always a strange-looking plant from early stages (see pic) odd-shaped leaves etc. I think the people who suggested bad genetics had it right. Although overfeeding probably didn't help.

The trichomes eventually appeared, not as many or as big in size as they perhaps should have been.... but they are there. A thin layer covering all of the cola from top to bottom. but only visible at 30x magnification.

So at 113 days since germination, I am preparing to harvest.

Thanks to everyone who commented.
