Nitrogen deficiency?

I definitely think I’ve been starving them. The yellowing isn’t progressing since they had 2 back-to-back feeds. They were still wet today so no input, but I’m hopeful I’m on the right path now, shooting for 500ppm of just feed nutes.

I’m actually using Fox Farms trio, but they have a bunch of schedules, too, so your point is well-taken. From my extensive reading, I knew I’d have to learn how to “read” my plants - clearly I didn’t pick up on their message til they were screaming at me! :doh: The difference between “reading” and actually “doing”.

Oops, if I’m reading “FF” as “GH”, might be time to put the bong down!

Hehe. Anyway, definitely best to go by ppm!

@Mañ'O'Green

A couple days of 500ppm plus the humic acid (and yucca) are already yielding improvements on the plants. Yellowing hasn’t progressed and the green seems darker (less-lime). Thank you so much.

How often do you advise using the humic acid and the yucca?

I am glad your plants are responding well!

The Humic Acid in soil once before planting and then the second week of real flower.

The yucca can be used with every fertigation. It has a positive effect on the biome and is food for some types of organisms. A tiny bit (a dab in 3 gallons of water) goes a long way so it lasts forever. Keep it dry with fresh desiccant. If it does turn into a brick put it in a spice mill and grind it up. Then put a fresh desiccant. I think I have had the same package for 2 years and it is still full. I need to go put a fresh desiccant in mine:haha:

Been there - plants screaming at me that is.

Reading plants is great, but it does not necessarily cure the big screwups or avoid them. The problem is that by the time symptoms appear, and they are often ambiguous initially, damage, maybe a lot of it, is already done.

It is a miracle that I got much from my last grow... I am still not sure what happened, nor was anyone else who kindly tried to help. The list includes starvation, lockout, pH screwups caused by buffering in the Sunshine#4 medium, and who knows what contributing environmental issues.

Somehow, those poor plants pumped out some decent bud. And did most of the job while looking like they were headed for the compost pile.

My next grow will be better. Maybe. I remember thinking the same thing last time... :biggrin:

Thank you. I have been humbled by my growing attempts, despite investing in good equipment and spending a LOT of time reading and learning (retired, so this is my main activity). First batch of seeds: burned by lights. Second batch: stunted by bad soil. I limped them along, thinking I was going to get something out of them. Got to day 69 and ended up with seeds forming. I went branch by branch but couldn’t find the offending plant with pollen. I made the difficult decision to trash them, as I had good healthy plants in another tent in the same room that were just beginning to flower, and I didn’t want to risk pollinating them. A couple days later is when I noticed this current issue. Humbling! I’m so thankful for everyone here sharing their knowledge, experience, and support. Really great community.

+1 on the helpfulness and friendliness of this community. Whatever decent bud I have is largely a result of the help that I have received here. There are lots of very knowledgeable growers here, and most are more than willing to try to help. In particular, the kind and helpful reception experienced by newcomers to this game, including me a year or so ago, is remarkable and exceptional. Kudos to the moderators who keep a lid on the flaming and bad behaviour that can be common on many online sites dealing with our favorite plant.

Anyway, from one retiree to another, good luck with the remainder of your current grow, and may the next one be even more fun, productive, and instructive. :pighug:
