Doing a Hot weather grow :fire: in a space where I doubt the temperature ever drops below 80*F and may reach highs pushing 100*F. I can't give it cooler temperatures but I can give it plenty of air circulation ... Currently using an Advanced LED DS100 ... did the first 5 days on Veg switch only and now, at day 10 have both veg & bloom switches turned 'on' ... pot is 3 gal plastic ... airpot would dry out too quick and I'll only be visiting this plant twice a week ... Soil is the used soil from my last photo grow harvested 3 months ago ... Nutrition during veg will be provided by a Nirvana Soil Tab, Cal/Mag+, and Silica Blast ... sure hope the Silica Blast helps combat the heat ... attempted to tier/transplant at one week and lost a lot of roots ... from now on I'm planting straight into the pot ... if she can handle the heat and grow to any size I've got plenty of light for when she gets bigger ... if the heat gets too bad I'll turn this into a guerrilla grow ...

Here she is at day 10 ... :niceshot:

I have a Hi-Low Temp and RH meter coming this week so I can be sure what the highest temps really are in the space ... 100*F+ will not surprise me by the end of August ... I visit the grow twice a week and turn the air on in the house while I'm there ... too expensive to cool for just one plant, maybe if I had a houseful ...

Min/Max meter arrived today ... works great although I can't figure out how to set the time ... plant looks good ... didn't even need water. Lots of Leaf twist but I think it's from the heat.

Well unless the meter says the time.. I pull the battery out at say 6:00p.m and put it right back in. Then I know from 6 to 6 the next night what my readings are. That help?

Meter has a clock so I just add 6 hrs ... :Sharing One:

Chester good luck with the grow! If ya got super hot temps a more sati leaning auto would probably do you better... Just my :2cents: but kinda late to change plans now... Lol... Sounds like a great experiment to see how this strain can handle conditions like this....a true stress test :) I believe blueberry is in those genetics which blueberry strains tend to have funky leaves in the beginning, or at least everyone I've ever grown! Also as you said could be the heat.
Out of curiosity what did the temps read for max and min so far?
:gthumb: coming your way sir!

I won't be back to the grow before Fri or Sat. so I won't see the temps for a few days ... While I was there the temps were steady at 83*F w/ plenty of air moving ... The house temperature was 78* (AC on) so I figure about 5* higher than the household air .... the rest of this week outdoor temps will be in the 90's and the AC won't be on ... those are the temps that I suspect will be deadly ... Blue Mystic often starts w/ a couple funky leaves but has been a hardy strain for me in the past ... I do not expect this plant to survive unless I move the pot outdoors but we'll see ... So far it's doing much better than expected.

Day 16 and looking good ... Max temp in the past 4 days was a balmy 86.6*F ... as you'll see below outdoor temps have been running in the mid 90's ... Min temp was 82.3 while the lights were off for 4 hrs from 2-6pm daily ... not drinking much but I gave her a little anyway ... I'm giving 1 or 2ml of silica blast w/ each watering ... about the same for Cal/Mag+ ... will not return for 4 days ... this is a great example of a soil tab grow ...

Some good stuff going on in here Chester. Those soil tabs seems awesome based on your past use of them. Hoping she enjoys the heat!

Visited the grow today and forgot my camera ... 3 days ago I screwed up and left only the veg switch turned on ... it caused some stretch ... it may turn out to be beneficial in the long run but I normally avoid stretch ... Min/Max was 81*F - 87*F ... didn't give it any water ... soil ph a nice mellow 6.5% ... used about 6 wires to LST and she opened right up ... I'll have pics next time.
