Indoor NiceNEasy's trials and tribulations.

Day 65 & 51

My older plants are not faring too well with the cold, and looking a bit spent now. I'm hoping to drag them out another 2 weeks, and then it will be chopping time - not looking good tho.

I have a few concerns about humidity & bud rot, as was this time last year I was hit. Hopefully, my changes will show through.

Below are pics of the newer - Day 51 plants. These seem to be taking the cold in their stride.

Maybe a little defoliation to reduce RH? Looking good. I hope you can get them to the finish line.

Butane Honey Oil. Basically, a cannabis extract using Butane gas.

Oh, I see everyone is calling it Butane Hash Oil now - which is wrong. It's nothing to do with hash.

Anyhoo, this link explains a bit more.

I'll work it through. This is on my list of usual issues in Autumn / Winter. Defoliation may be a good call.

Holy crap - I'm an open blaster! Gutted to see what I need to make decent stuff. Up to now I've used butane a bike pump and some tights feeding it into warm water - nice yellow gunk that goes dark pretty quick, works though. Thanks for the pertinent info - the bedroom breeders bible is gold. You've saved hours of Google based research. NICE.
Me and a bro are looking how to put warm air into our shed/garage breeding attempt. It gets way too cold to just pull in shed air and we're only using a couple of PC fans. We're thinking of putting loads of holes in a cardboard box, sticking it under our grow box connecting with a wee bit of ducting and heating the lower box with an incandescent bulb (40w?)
It's certainly a poser. Am scared of bud rot.

Sorry, I didn't look closely at the link I added. It makes it look way too complicated.

I use a Honey Bee Extractor. Which is basically a plastic pipe with a screw lid, a single hole in one end, and multiple holes in the other.

You then get some decent dry trim, chop it up quite fine, and put it in the Extractor. Don't pack it hard, but nice and full.

Go online and buy some decent Butane Gas - Zero Impurities stuff, Newport, Colibri, Bull Brand I think if in UK. Put the gas in the pipe via the single hole, and collect what comes out the bottom in a glass tray or the likes.

Wait till the gas bubbles off, and whip the oil a bit to remove any remaining gas. Then you can either let it dry & store, or smoke that mother.

This time of year is well difficult for us Garage Growers. I use little tube heaters & seedling mats to try and keep the temps up. I usually just try and nurse my plants through this time, and wait till Feb / March before really starting to plant again. Humidity & Bud Rot are well up there on the list of problems, especially if you are introducing more warm air. There's no easy way around that.
