Indoor Newbies Has a Question about Plant Height

Hi!

Totally stressed, obsessed, worried newbie here again with another question!

So, my plant has been growing for almost 4 weeks now. It seems to be doing well---it looks good and healthy.

However, measuring it today, it is only 4 inches tall!

Should it be taller at this point, after 4 weeks????

Since autos have such a shorter growth period, I'm thinking this plant should be taller.

This is an auto/fem Afghan Kush Ryder. The description on Attitude.com says that they grow for two weeks, then have a crazy flowering period for 55 days.

That makes me think this plant should be taller. I don't notice any flowering yet, luckily.

What do you think? Am I just worrying too much once again???

Thanks for any and all assistance!

What kind of lighting is it under? What size pot is it in? How wide is it (the plant)? Soil or hydro? If soil what kind of soil?

sounds stunted or maybe a bad pheno. for best results for auto at least 2gal pots and never transplant.and i never add nutes until after 2weeks

The smaller the pot the smaller your auto. If you are unsatisfied and you wish at this point you had used a bigger pot I suggest you not transplant it will stress the plant and slow growth of the already short life cycle. Instead you can put some soil in another pot carefully cut the bottom of your pot out that has your plant in it (cut in-between the drainage holes)and stack it on the other. The roots have more room to grow now and this should help produce some better results.:peace:

bingo! thats exactly what I was about to suggest.

It is under a CFL.

The pot it is in is 2 gallon, I believe.

The soil is just plain potting soil---NO nutes.

I just started feeding it nutes---Humboldt "Oneness" formula. Package says 1 tsp. per gallon. Right now, I'm using probably less than 1/2 tsp. per gallon.

The plant is 4" high and 7" wide at its widest point (from tip of largest leaf to tip of largest leaf).

I don't have a picture right now, but I will try and take one and post it.

I didn't think that the size of the container was the problem, since it seems big enough, at least for now.

Once you get some pics up we can make a better call on it.

Here are some pics.

I made a mistake when I mentioned the timing---as of today, this plant is exactly 3 weeks old, not 4.

But, still, to me it seems a little short at 3 weeks old, considering the short growth period of an auto.

The second picture is a close-up---today I noticed that the top new growth leaves are yellow, right at the tips----what does this mean???

Thanks!
