New white pistils?.....

Hi, on week 13 now and keeping a close eye on thichs and have noticed that there seems to be new white pistils appearing... a few of the thichs have started to turn amber but hardly any yet. Have been using biobizz nutes throughout so havnt flushed.

is this normal? Should I just keep an eye on the thichs then give her the chop when I’m happy with the ratio, or would I have to wait for the pistils to brown over?

I’m having the same issue, new pistols that just won’t stop coming, day 101 today. It’s been 4 days since the last pistol onslaught so fingers crossed this is the end. Some strains will not produce amber trichomes which I didn’t know so I’m going on the percentage of brown hair for this girl.

Trichs not turning amber is rare.. You'll probably never experience that growing autos.. New whitw pistils forming happens on every female plant. You have to understand cannabis to understand why it happens. A female cannabis plant has one job.. To get pollinated and produce seeds.. The pistils are what catch the pollen. Towards the end of life, after most pistils have died off, the female plant makes a last ditch effort to get pollinated, by growing new pistils. The plant will do this until it cant anymore. This is why we pay more attention to trichs then we do pistils, when deciding when to harvest.

yeah I though this was the case after the research that I have done. So you would say not to worry and just solely go on the trichs?
Would the plant still be considered as ripe and ready if the trichs have turned to the amount I want and white pistils still exist?
Safe to give the chop at that point?

That is correct. Trichomes contain THC.. Pistils are strictly for reproduction and pollination. They have no effect on the levels or readiness of THC. That job belongs to the trichomes. All clear trichs mean the plants aren't ready for harvest. Mostly cloudy means it will be more of a euphoric effect. Mostly amber trichs will be more of a body lock effect. Pistils have nothing to do with THC.. The brown pistils that have died off can be used as a visual indicator letting you know that its time to start checking trichs, but pistils arent used to determine THC readiness or levels.

I guess I was just a bit concerned as she is a couple weeks behind schedule but I suppose that could be for any number of reasons, she’s looking good so I’ll just keep checking those trichs!
