Still looking for suggestions on which light to use for germ/root building? I've got the basic plant aquarium type or mh or HPS? And a couple more suggestions from my seed list above. Is 4 too many for my first try?

Thanks for the heads up! Berry Ryder is Purdy too!

Run MH for the first 6 weeks. Then swap out for the best results - until the AFs are at least 2 weeks or 8" tall, keep the light 36" off of them. After that, 18-24 inches to draw some stretch and depending on your heat footprint. The blue (metal halide) spectrum works best for vegetative state and the red (hps) for budding. "Aquarium type" <- Can you specify a little more into wattage, color spectrum, etc? If it's truly aquarium it's probably an unusable or terribly inefficient spectrum for growing mj.

Keep your humidity up and temperatures around ~78-80 for germination and early growth, water minimally and water depending on weight - the top of the soil will dry faster, so don't be fooled. Pick up the pot when you first fill it with soil, this is your dry weight - now water it and wait 12 hours (put it in a warm place), sow your seed and put it under the MH, for best results put a CLEAR plastic cup over where you sowed the seed to ensure warmth and humidity.. infallible method for germination.

Good luck bud, look forward to seeing you show off your skills!

Thank you SO much. You answered it all for me. The plant/aquarium one is just on my counter for cactus plants, doesn't scream humidity so scratch that! I'm going dark n warm n humid. Are you saying just direct plant to soil? Skip the other fun part where I can see it sprout? I live for that seed crack...lol

Most seasoned growers on here will agree that the best way to start an autoflower is in it's final pot - this is because the tap root is a huge part of the final size of the plant. If you do a method to see it crack (soaking, etc) there's always that chance of a miscue. The final product is much much prettier than the seed crack! Just wait!

As well, have your lights set right off the bat - 18/6 or 20/4 - there is a decent increase (probably about 10-15% difference) in overall yield, in my experience doing 20/4.. 24/0 though actually seems to stress the plants more in my opinion.

Look forward to the journal brother, will be subscribing!

There's a few good link's in my sig.
please read the site rules.
And have some fun!

Is a grow log where I just take a pic and tell you all what's up?

Soooo....20/4 is better even though it upsets the girls? Okey dokey

Yeah, a grow journal is where you'd write out your set-up. the strains, any details on equipment you want to add - then take pictures as you go. Any questions that pop up, you can ask in there and anyone can look back on your previous information and give some clear advice!

No no, 20/4 (twenty on, four off) is the most optimal but energy inefficient set-up. 24/0 (twenty four on, zero off) upsets the girls, in MY experience.
