Indoor New to LEDs, any advice

Hi all!

I have always used CFLS but have purchased a Meizhi 600w LED (see pic).

I’m just about to start another small grow 2x Northern Lights and wondered how far people would recommend this light being for each stage.

1. Seedling
2. Veg
3. Flower.

I just want to get it right and not scorch my girls!

i have ran every one of my autos at full spectrum and 24 hours every grow just fine.
I will experiment with off times soon. But i have had no issues with full spectrum 24 hr. So what ever is cost effective for your set up.

How far do you normally have the lights from the top of the plants? Do you change the distance for each stage?

i keep the light just above the point it stresses them out. And flower. Meh. Depends. 10-18 inches. Depending on plant and how big of a foot print i need

Full spectrum around the clock, that's how I did it for years before changing to cob lights. That is the only way I have ever beaten the stated grow time-frame from Breeder/Vendors.

Wit a new light, I've always started higher than I'd want, and lower as I see stretch, working down till just barely stressed, then back off a little and then follow plant growth... if the lights dimmable, you can just start dimmed and increase.
As all leds are not created equal, yours could end up higher, or lower than a "same wattage" viparspectra (ie)

I also got the exact light and am a 1st time grower. I have 3 plants under it now at about 19 inches above. Meizhi says 18" blah blah, but I agree with the above comments to watch your girls and move it accordingly. I found 18' was too close when they were younger...the very tips were brown/toasted. I will be surprised if the one light is adequate for three bushy girls...time will tell. My plants are 40 days old. The first couple weeks I only used the veg light, then I've mostly had both lights on...24/7. I chose 24/7 bc I need any extra heat possible.(basement grow) Good luck.
