New Grower New Grower Tangerine Dream

Welcome to AFN and good luck with your grow. I am just finishing my first grow now, also Growers Choice strains GG4 and Northern Lights. They took forever.

Your lady looks good! I’m subbed up.
Nice! How do I find your journal? I have Gorilla Glue next i was saving it for the second grow hoping I could have a little better experience.

Honestly though, my GC ladies went WAY too long, they did autoflower, but it was at about day 60. Looks like mine are all going to go 120+ days. This has happened to multiple growers Choice growers. Possibly bad genetics, also possibly the result of new growers use of various “stress and stunt” techniques.

I have a packet of their Critical purple I’d still like to grow at some point.

Hi! Welcome! I just finished growing Tangerine Dream from Growers Choice. Can’t say I didn’t have some trials with it, but I did get a very nice yield. One plant gave me 3.9 ounces and another gave me 4.6 ounces. I’ll be following your journal. I’m curious about how yours turn out.

Turning back time a bit I figured I could post my blurple cell phone images from day 1 through day 25. Sorry for the quality!

I started calling them lefty and righty for obvious reasons. Lefty sprouted first Dec. 23rd am. And righty on Dec. 24th pm.

I put the seeds in a cup for 18 hours then transferred them to a paper towel in a dark cabinet in my kitchen.

Once the tap roots were 1/2 in. Long or so I planted them in my fabric pots.

Lightly watered them in with 6 ml of distilled water.

After 4 days I lightly watered around the base of the seedling.

Light was about 24” away.
Temps ranging from 77 lights on to 65 lights off. RH at 55 lights on 75 lights off.

These are from week 1. 7E22170D-E181-42B0-9A73-AF78094E471A.jpeg5BBD77FB-D71C-4B42-8669-282699FEA4C3.jpeg549E7D6F-1294-480A-AE02-96370F932825.jpegD63835EF-4DDD-4278-A46B-96FD48B525EA.jpeg

Week 2: watering every 4-5 days worried about over watering. Added 1/8 strength nutes for the first time on day 11. 1 ml cal mag/ 1 ml micro/ 2 ml bloom. PH 6.1 gave each pot a half gallon of water and had run off for the first time.

I noticed some curling on the tips of lefty after I watered along with some of the serrated leaf tips curling up. I assumed I over fed them or fed to early or maybe too much water wasn’t sure.

I just let them ride it out and they seemed fine after a few days.

A couple things I’ve noticed with this king plus 2000w led is it seems to vary in color from time to time. I look one time it’s blue then red then it will be white it’s weird. Meanwhile spending most of my free time absorbing knowledge on here and studying deficiencies I don’t yet have etc...

I have a question for you guys. I have organicide I was going to apply as a preventative measure. Is this an ok move?

It calls for 2 oz. per gal. But I only need about 12 oz. any suggestions from anyone familiar with how much to mix in water. I only have 2 plants and I dont really want to be wasteful. Any suggestions you have would be great!

I think it’s a great idea. I made up a separate 8oz spray bottle and sprayed the leaves before they went into flower. They might be a little small now though.

Spray them at the end of their day so they have a 4+ hour stretch with lights off while the solution dries. Light shining on wet leaves can cause discoloration.

There is one product I can recommend for your grow that would be perfect for them right now. Optic Foliar Overgrow, just in veg. I’ve seen what it does myself and I won’t grow without it.

You would thank me ...

How much did you put in the 8 oz. bottle?
