Okay So I’m a little behind on the journal but let’s get started with the Tent & hardware:
Marshydro 3’x3’x6.5’ Tent
2) Mars Sp-150 LED lights
AC Infinity 4” Cloudline S4 Exhaust Fan
10”x8”x4” Filter
Ink Bird IHC-200 Humidity Controller
Vivosun 1.3L Dehumidifier
2) 8” Clip Fans
I have decided to go with Sour Crack and Sour Livers do to there size and speed which to me seemed like a good start. Took me a wile on the decision for my first grow and after carefully selecting them I feel I have made the right choice.
Nutrient selection was Green Leafs MegaCrop, Sweet Candy, Calmag Pro, and Bud Explosion due to what seems to be a simple feed guide and being all organic.
Soil is 3/4 ProMix BX (didn’t have HP) and 1/4-1/3 Extra Perlite. Added the extra perlite to bring it up to par with being more porous and get it up to more of a ProMix HP solution. Also went with fabric pots for the extra air flow to help dry the pots out a little on the fear of over watering.
7/21/19-
Germination start
2) SC and 2) SL into a cup with distilled water and pots prepped.
7//22/19-
After 24 hours Beans went into Wet paper towel and plates. All beans fell and cracked. Today tent is started up and humidity perimeters are set.
7/23/19
All beans have grown there tails. Tap roots look good SC both have about 1” tap roots and SL 1/8”. All are going into there pots.
Temp 85F Humidity 65%
7/24/19
Today starts Day 1 for both SL and SC [HASHTAG]#1[/HASHTAG] SC#2 has a lump in the soil so just waiting on her.
Temp 88F Humidity 65%
Switching so that lights are only on during the night and mid morning 18 hours on 6 hours off.
7/26/19
Gave the Girls there first feed 1/4TSP of MegaCrop and 1/4 TSP of Sweet Candy mixed in one gallon with a PH of 6.8. 4oz per plant. Water I started with is 000ppm had to buy a Zero pitcher and filter out my sink water because ppm is around 350-400.
Realized I killed SC [HASHTAG]#2[/HASHTAG] I cleared a little dirt to help on the 24th and noticed there were leafs didn’t touch again then today realized that the stem was actually curling under the tap root to come out and if I never cleared the dirt it prolly would have made it but when moving the dirt I exposed the tap root to the light and the air for over a day. If I didn’t kill it I definitely stressed it way to much so I pulled her and am germing another.
Temp 80F Humidity 60-65%
Lights put out sooo much heat especially with it being in the upper 80 that I had to crank up my fan to 6/8 output and open windows even at night the temp was reaching in the high 80’s low 90’s. At lights off temps are 75F
7/27/19
Baby’s are looking good and not stretching so light seems to be at an appropriate height at about 20-24 inches. Soil is still damp so not going to feed yet I will prolly check once more tonight. No changes
Temp 80F Humidity 65%
Opening windows and ramping up fan really helped battle over heating in the tent. Don’t really want to add and AC to the room and a temp controller but might be easier to monitor seems though I do have to leave for a week at a time periodically throughout the year. Going to train a friend to help out wile I am away.
My feeding is going to depend on my plants but as a basic go to for now is Start at 1/4 Tsp (basically 1 gram) for the first week and go up tsp every week with MegaCrop keep sweet candy the same and once the plants start to flower back down on MC and start introducing Bud explosion slowly.
I do have one question thought what is the best location for my hygrometer and my humidity sensor for my inkbird I have noticed that both have a pretty different reading as my sensor is at the top of my tent and hygrometer is about pot height. My hygrometer sometimes says about 10-15% different then my inkbird unit which worry’s me one might be off but I have been sticking with my inkbird because it’s brand new and apparently comes calibrated.
Thanks guys hope you all tune in and enjoy the fun. Sorry for the late start wasn’t entirely sure I was going to do a journal but decided it would benefit the plants and the community.
