Over the last 3 months I acquired 4 Horticultural Lighting Group's Diablo boards. I debated quite a while as to what to use for a heatsink. I felt the Slate 5 was too small footprint wise. I didn't want individual heatsinks either. I considered a pair of Slate triples. Then I got my hand's on a heatsink used for HLG's 600R light and snagged that up quick!
I went to the hardware store and got eye bolts and chain to hang it with. Now adjusting height will be a slight hassle but I don't have to worry about rope ratchet failure. Had that happen once Dropped a Mars 192 Reflector, a 22" wide light in a 32"x32" tent.......... FLATTENED all my plants!!! This new light is 26"x22" could do some damage. Now later I may buy new rope ratchets in fact, its time to replace all the others. Thge ropes are really pretty crappy on most, they get dry rot and disintegrate. I had a drying rack do the same time, two years old and it literally fell to pieces. Grrrrrrrrrrrr

I mounted and wired the boards yesterday, got my chains and hardware today and mounted. The light is going into the photoperiod tent tomorrow during lights on. The COB light in there runs on a pair of HLG240H-C2100b drivers. Actual power at the boards will be about 115 watts per board. I'm estimating 1100 to 1200 PPF at full power. I'll be running dimmed though, that's too much PPF without CO2 enhancement.

I'll be growing Super Sativa Seed Club's Pineapple Poison under it.

@pop22 Nice DIY light. In flower 12/12 you can run 1000 PPFD and it will be 43 DLI. That is not too much. But heat may become a factor. I am hoping that the fall is cool enough for me to run at 42 DLI in my photo grow. I will be flipping in a couple of weeks?

:vibe:

each diablo board is the equivalent of 2 1/4 QB 288 boards run at 50watts each plus another 15 watts for the other 1/4. . Efficiency should be up near 60%! heat shouldn't be a problem. I'f I had a high ceiling room, it could be run at 600 watts and flower a 5x5 space. I'm considering eliminating 2 of my 3 tents to use part of the room they are in as an open space with Panda Poly curtains. That's how I started out and I think it would improve my ventilation/circulation, it's hard to get cool air into three tents and a cab that take up 80% of a room, without running more fans than I already have!

I understand physical constraints. I am literally in a corner . Take a look at Orca Grow film before you go with Panda. I love the stuff.

How flexible is it? I literally plan to put grommets in it and hang it like a curtain. That's how I did my Panda. I'll keep one tent for photos.

It is stiffer but could work.

I use it for the flaps of my doors. It is not going to last forever but I Will just reline the canvas I laminated it to for support.

Update!

Diablo light up and running WOOOOOOOoooo! Damn, I thought my QB 304 light was bright! And I'm only at 400 watts! We'll see how these ladies tolerate this! Might have to up the ppms on my nutes a bit. Don't think I need the supplemental COB anymore...lol!

Got to bring in some stakes the Mystery weed is flopping over branches are very thin and whippy. Trainwreck is looking good!

UPDATE:

Just mounted the boards for my second Diablo light. Same specs as the previouse one, 4 on a heatsink for a 600 Rspec. I'll be using a pair of 240H-C2100b for drivers, which will mounted remotely. Should have the drivers soon.
