Need ph help

Sorry for the late reply. That was the first grow which I totally abused. :D I let the medium get WAY too dry between waterings, and it wrecked the pH.

This second time around, I added some soil acidifier at half the listed top-dress amount. I did that when I mixed in the perlite at the beginning, and then once at the second top-dress. Next grow I'll add it every time I re-amend a half the strength, it really seemed to bring out the purple coloration in the strains where it was supposed to happen.

Cal/Mag at every watering. Every time, since it's not present in the soil. The dry amendments I'm using, Dr. Earth, includes mycorrhizae, and since I planted in the final containers, I never needed to add more. Judging from the first grow, the roots absolutely filled the 3 gal fabric pots very evenly from top to bottom.

Thank you for the response! I will have to look into the soil acidifier. I have trying to stay between 6.1 and 6.3, but since I’m only watering a little at this point I def have concerns that the ph of my over all medium might be higher since I used tap to rinse the coco, can’t confirm bc I don’t think I should be watering to run off at this point/ever(?) have a soil ph meter that reads over 7 not totally convinced it works in the coco though.

Are you continuing to grow with coco and dry amendments?

If you've got one of the fancy BlueLab $200 pH testers, it should measure coco just fine. If you're using dry amendments, you should never water to run-off. I've found that consistent daily watering is important in 3 gallon fabric pots. Plastic non-perforated pots may hold moisture longer.

I am definitely sold on the dry amendment method, it's just so low fuss. This second grow is so much better than the first, and other than some strain-specific low yield, this is some of the best cannabis I've ever had. I would love to automate some of the watering, just because it's monotonous.

I've got two photoperiods that just sprouted, and the last autoflower (that wasn't really an autoflower) on a 12/12 for the near future. Planning to run those two in the same three gallon pots/medium/amendments to see how they compare.
