Need help from someone with weed tincture experience

If you decarb first, no need to soak a month. A few days will be plenty.
And QWISO isn't hard to make. And you don't need a crockpot and all that. After straining the solution into a dish, wrap the dish in cheesecloth and put it outside to evaporate. I set mine inside my smoker/grill with the cover closed, as it gets pretty warm in the sun being all black. a few hours and you have QWISO!

Thx guys!

However, I don't think I'll use the Rick Simpson/ QWISO method. 1st, I'm not sure if I'll find Isopropyl alcohol.
2nd It seems a bit more time consuming and more laborious than just drying the plant, decarb and then letting her be soaked in natural alcohol for a month or so.

Or is there A BIG difference in the end result?
Maybe than I'll consider it then.

Ok thx. I will give it a thought.

About decarbing. I'll be away for 17 days in August.
I am going to leave the weed/alcohol mixture alone, without a daily shake, in my basement for at least that period of time anyway.

Do I get it right you mean that you do not NEED to decarb, as long as it gets soaked by the alcohol long enough?
It gets decarbed by just sitting in the alcohol then?

Cos I read everywhere that decarbing in the oven i a MUST??

Or is that a myth too? [emoji4]

Alcohol will not decarb cannabis. You'll need heat like the oven before you soak the material.
Alcohol will strip the material, it doesn't take a month...a few days will do. Shake a couple times a day.

When you evaporate your alcohol off, you can use heat (not a gas flame - alcohol fumes are flammable) or cover with a screen and evaporate naturally.

I've got much more simple recipe:
- decarb buds for 30-40 min on 110-120°C
- pour alcohol on it and cook in double boiler on low flame for 30 min
- strain, squeeze

So only take you 60-70 minutes.

Aaaaargh! Did you say 'FLAME' ????? :poof:
With alcohol?

I've done some chemical studies in the past and got quiet a lot of practice in the laboratory some 20 years ago.

No way I would ever consider of using a flame with alcohol in a kitchen, certainly not without decent equipment.

So no worries as far as I'm concerned. I don't intend blowing up my kitchen or torched myself ;-)

Induction stove with an exhaust fan and/or outdoors works well for me reducing my everclear tinctures.
