Good Morning Buds! I’m growing in a 4x4 tent and I would appreciate any recommendations on a decent dehumidifier for that space. One that doesn’t cost a arm and a leg would be ideal.

I got one cheap at a thrift store, big beast of a thing. Works great dehumidifying but it pumps out A LOT of heat. I mean a lot. Running it heats my room up to 90 very quickly. Good luck, hope you can find what you’re looking for

@Killabe Is it possible to put the dehumidifier in the Lung Room (the room the tent is in)? Like @DogterB has mentioned they do work by chilling then heating the air and will work best outside of the tent. The minimum I recommend is a 40QT unless you can plumb it to a drain; otherwise you will be constantly needing to empty it.

Older units are not energy efficient so a new one is a better buy in the long run.

@Mañ'O'Green I’m taking your advice and trying to dehumidify the Lung Room. I just set up a dehumidifier I use for my basement which smelled like cat piss lol when I first moved in. I’ll give it some hours or the morning to see the changes.

I have a hose draining into a 5 gallon bucket.

That's the way to do it. I fortunately can have mine drain into the sump but yeah, monster unit keeping the basement dry. It makes for good sound coverage too. No one's going to hear a little oscillating fan and a fan/filter combo running in the background of a monster dehumidifier. Plus - Gotta check the bucket! Cover story check out again!

I was having issues trying to keep my girl innthe correct VPD range as well. I grow in a small 3'x3' tent and the space I grow in is typically low in humidity. My plant was definitely feeling the effects of the less than ideal environment. I ended up buying the mini units below. They cost me a couple buck but are fully adjustable and kind if small enough to deal with for now.

Bumping an old thread; but having trouble finding the one shown here. Does anyone have any recommendations on decent de-humification? I'm in a 5x5 and struggling to stay below my VPD threshold going into flower. Not adverse to running in lung room; but lung room is already in the right range -- Around 30-40%. My tent is closer to 65% and has a small unit running in it now. Think I just need something for a larger space.
