Need auto-watering suggestions

Why not use drip irrigation? You like growing in soil. It is time tested. It is what I used when I could grow in soil. Of all of the styles of growing I have done in my life soil w/drip is the least time demanding. I could leave for a three day weekend without worries. The hydro styles I use now run ME every day! It is ok though since I am retired to watch the grass grow.
