Need an opinion on LED lights

Hi folks, my dilemma is between the mars FC-E 4800 or spider farmer SF4000. @MrAutoGrower my budget is around €500. Thanks
Ditch the spider farmer. Fairly ok lights but much better lights out there for the money. I will report back with lights for you for that price today. Mars r better. But if you want the best bang for your buck, I highly recommend a 480w kingbrite light. You can find them on alibaba. They’re almost half the price of mars hydro

I own both a @Marshydro FC-4800 and an FC-6500 and love them both. I mount the drivers outside the tents which leaves it incredibly cool inside the tents which is VERY important to me. An important buying decision for me is warranty and Mars Hydro has a very good warranty. Not sure how reliable a warranty would be for an LED light purchased from Alibaba. Not saying it wouldn't be good, but for me it would be suspect.

I do want to add that I use my FC-4800 in a 3x3 tent and have never had the dimmer set to higher then about 75% of full power so I feel it would very nicely power a 4x4 tent. That is my 2 cents FWIW.

Kingbrite is very reliable and helpful. I bought a 240w And alongside two mars hydro ts600 I produce up to 21oz each grow in my 2x5x7. Mars hydro also replaced a broken ts600 I had. Their support is awesome.

I take back what I said earlier,, I guess they aren't all samsung lol.. You're not really comparing apples to apples here with the sf 4000 and FC-e series. The FC-E series is using the Bridgelux diodes vs the better lm301's . So it comes to price,, are you getting a lot better $/watt out of the Mars ? Maybe I'm out to lunch however,, I sort of stopped caring and keeping up with led's lol .. Shane from Migros youtube channel always does the best reviews.

Samsung has just released new EVO leds for horticultural use.
I'll have to check them out.

The Kingbrite lights get a lot of good reviews. Aren’t Mars and SF the same company? At least that was the rumor for awhile. Dunno if that even matters just popped into my head.

Are you limited only to those 2 brands? Assuming that you’re in the UK or Europe have you looked at Migro or Lumatek?

Amazing DIY of the removable light bar. If you buy it on www.mars-hydro.com, you can save 8% with discount code AFN.
Features of FC-E4800 are below:
Homogeneous PAR Distribution:
FC-E4800 has 2646 pcs high-quality BridgeLux chips. The dense layout of LED chips makes the light more uniform and penetrates better. It can avoid overdrive while achieving an efficiency of 2.7 µmol/j.
Special Combination of Spectra: With the addition of UV and IR to the full spectrum, not only does it provide the light needed for the entire growth cycle of the plants, the UV improves plant yield and the IR makes the plants taste better.
Adjustable Light Bar Design: The spacing between the lights can be adjusted according to the plant needs, more reasonable utilization of light to promote plant growth. The removable design is easier for installation and replacement.
Dimmer Function of Daisy Chain: The dimming function can effectively control the light needed for different growth phases of plants, which is convenient and also does not cause waste of electrical resources. Large area planting can use the daisy chain function to control 30 lights.
Fast Heat Dissipation: The wavy aluminum heat sink and 17mm passive cooling bar generate less heat and reduce electricity costs by 50% over HID/HPS lights!

Can't vouch for the spider farmer but I had an issue with a Mars light driver recently and they were super good on honoring the warranty. Had a brand new light at my door in days and they even upgraded me to the newer version of the 2000 that I had

The fce is a powerful light and at a great price. I would buy that light all day long. I think the fce line is the best light for the money. The FC is a great light but not that much better imo the fce is the bargain. But that is just my opinion.

You never turn a led light down because it is using Bridgelux leds. Kind Used them for years and so did Apollo lights. But there again that is just my opinion.
