Ok, so I've been going back and forth trying to decide if I want to grow in soil or a hydro/aero system. so after a ton of research, I'm pretty sure that I want to go with a hydro/aero system. The one in particular is one of the aquamist systems. it's an aeroponic system. Here's the link http://www.aquamist.com/aquamist1.htm
The only reason I chose this system is because I've seen another grower have a lot of success with it. I plan on putting it in a 47x47x79in grow tent either using 2 4ft x4 bulb T5's or a 400w HPS light. This is going to be my first grow, so any advice good or bad about going with this type of system would be greatly appreciated.

Hey Sir
If it's going to be your first grow you should go with soil as it's more forgiving. But if you really want to give hydro a try.
Think about hempy grow buckets. It's as simple as soil but it's a hydro passive system. "Best of both worlds"

Thanks for the info. I'll definitely check out the hempy grow buckets. If I go with the aero system, I planned on getting a ppm meter to stay on top of things if problems arise. The only reason I'm leaning towards an aero setup is because with this being my first grow, I want to make sure that I get the maximum yield possible. With soil I'm afraid that I may under/over water the plants and not get the best yield possible.

No matter what you go with you will need a PH and a PPM meter, or you will encounter problem after problem and without meters it will be near impossible to workout what the "Real" underlying problem is.

Good luck with your growing adventure, there are plenty of people here that can assist no matter what system and/or media you decide to use :)

Stunted out.

Not trying to be negative. But apparently a Aeroponics system is the most difficult.
You could give Deep water culture (DWC). Try doing a 1 bucket system at first and see how you like it.

Good luck

No worries man. You made a valid point though, which kinda made me step back and re-think my plan. Considering the fact that I've never grown before, it does make sense to try a single bucket system before I get a head of myself and go all out and spend hundreds of dollars on a system that might not fit my needs.

I'm also trying to debate on whether or not I should start a multi plant setup for my first grow. I'm curious to hear everyone's opinions about it.

And thanks for the warm welcome roadside.

It depends on your situation/room etc.
A suggestion
Have the same strain but try different methods.
1 DWC, 1 Soil, 1 Hempy etc
And from there see which one is best for you. For some hydro is much easier than soil
