"Natures Living Soil" is not very good

Yeah thats scaley n shit, not cal mag. lol But I used the NLS in several ways. from like they state 1 LB per 5 gallons of soil. I KNOW thats either gonna fail or need to real tending to do well. so we will see. and the same in 3 gallon pots to 1 LB of soil additive of the NLS.and used NLS in combination with a series of thing I prefer to use. so I will know that soil fairly well imho after this run. half way through ill know it well soooo LOL then I can answer epoples queries on it. I was asked a lot sooo,I decided to see if its worth the hype..

Whatever my issue is it’s affecting the lower leaves causing them to die and middle older growth has spots that appear to be cal or mag? I know my ph is supper high. Water in is 6.1ph runoff is 7.1ph 500ppm runoff with 80ppm in. Supposedly you don’t have to worrie about ph with living soil but I still find that hard to believe since this is an indoor grow not outdoors so I’m going to adjust my water to the mid 5’s and see what happen. I got some Botanicare Pure Blend Pro Bloom soil formula 1-4-5 I’m going to feed them Incase the problem persists after adjusting ph.

Update: today’s watering analysis was different. Ppm was 1100 water in was 5.1 water out was a high 7.2! My theory is the soil dry is sitting in the high 8’s So I’m assuming I have a lockout

F866A880-E77E-4F2F-9396-159C66578386.jpeg Green crack had these spots all over from top to bottom!
ill see if i can find a pic tomorrow...the plants that i potted with the nls that "cooked" 3x longer look a lot better but still have the slight tip burn here and there on new growth but none of the twisting scraggly growth patterns..the gc critical purple has the same symptoms (p def, maybe cal..sometimes hard to tell in early stages, at least ime) but not as bad..pics tomorrow hopefully! ive done pretty well with the layering technique with photos..only done a couple autos with layered soil and those were fussy and had some slight clawing but no deficiencies..i think youre right tho, layered soil is kinda silly and straight tlo is probably superior
Does the new growth that twist and get tip burn from a deficiency? I have the same thing happening along with brown
yeah most soils today are good but will always lack in Nuitrogen that lasts for a solid 50-60 days with aggressive growth as well as tend to the flowering fully during the same time(s). so I usually prep pots for a little better or longer run.I would buy Tea Labs Bloom booster personally. but Build a soil has a new thing on their site. looks decent but havent used it.Bloom booster. but I would use a gallon of soil,a half cup of langbenite and a few bloom and N granules and hit it with a tea and mammoth and let it chill a few weeks.maybe a little bit of bonemeal among a few other thing. Kelp meal, sul po mag.lots of things can be added to make a top coating and/or a bloom boost addition to your soil/Pots. Pictures? I am ujsing it now since I was being asked ALL the time when I first came back and only used it for a photo grow repair that went longer than (and bigger) than I had anticipated LOL

And FYI Layering is for the most part,is a dumb idea and completely unnecessary. I have ZERO clue as to why so many people and sellers say do the layer thing. NOPE ill never do it again. just an fyi,mix it through the pot it'll work better and last a little longer overall.[/QUOTE1C6463E4-D469-41FB-97BC-CC07430439B3.jpegplant 1-green crack, yellowing starting from the bottom up. 8F8AC245-8098-47F4-B24C-0E388DA8AB75.jpegGorilla glue is showing the brown blotches on the lower leaves. Both plants have curled burnt tips.

even small amounts of unprocessed amendments may be causing that ..dont know how else to explain burn, then low ppm runoff n starvation ..fwiw

@Eyes on Fire
The gg4 is starting to fuss..one of the three to get the initial mix. the critical purp is showing different issues but seems under control.. yesterday fed all with ro water with 250 ppm GO calmag, about 350 ppm buddha bloom (3 tbsp per gallon) and earth juice potasium bicarbonate ph up to bring the ph up to low 6s.. came out to about 1000 ppm..(none of the others have displayed any issues after that watering *so far*)..day before they all got aact with ancient forest, worm castings, molasses, n a little azomite... watered this particular plant with r/o just now as its drinking quite a bit.....run off was 1900..ppm ph 6.5.. the only thing i did different when i fed yesterday was use ro and calmag instead of half ro and filtered tap..which comes out to 220-250 ppm and 6.3-6.5 ph....this plant was growing so fast i had a feeling it was gonna throw something at me...have some necrosis between veins on the leaf margins...and some yellowing on upper/new growth
burn? p def? cal? dont wanna be hasty..sigh..all this ph and ppm shit is a nuisance..i usually dont have to bother with it but this NLS is giving me PTSD

So the low ppm could be the cause of the deficiency? I was going to try to feed the one with low ppm a bloom formula from Botanicare pbp to see if it helps . I’ve tested the runoff the past 2 days, day one was around 300 ppm and day 2 was 500ppm. I’m being told 2 different story’s about ph, some ppl say to not ph and the majority of them say to ph and that’s what I’ve been doing is ph’ing my water to try and get the runoff lower.

that is possible...ppm seems pretty low..i would think it would be higher. >?

Good move. Did you get the dry or liquid version of the nutrients? Those will take 1-2 weeks to see the effects, but better late than never if you are experiencing deficiencies. If I were you, I'd be trying to get as many good microorganisms in your soil as fast as you can. Something like Recharge or Great White is the way to go. Those are the workers that process the elements of the soil and feed them to the roots in a way that the plant can use them. That will help with any lockout issues you may be experiencing. Of course, as with organics, it takes a little longer to see the benefits of corrections.

@Cannalove420 Hey,sorry. Was away for a cpl days.Gotta get away here n there man. Anywhoo, dont what its called specifically(used to know me thinks) but its an incredibley similar pattern of issues as well as poor and only partial at best performance in veg when thinned properly.which if I start to have these issue with those specific pots, ill yank em immediately ,thin , re mix, and re sow..

But its an over powered and unbalanced Veg soil if you will. or even a top coating if you mixed it down a little and into certain things. But there is really nothing you can do at this point imo. you could use some castings top coatings and lite casting teas might help.along with maybe simple life teas and similar baby type care but thats kinda involved and might not do that well.Sorry .I know the feeling..

But ,(you should NOT need too do all these numbers and readings)the reason they are off is because of the seriosly potent and unbalanced way its giving and flashing out its stuff.I would love to know how they test some of these things.I have seen these soils before. its tough to know which is which untill you try them.

And on another note.I appreciate you tagging me broham, truly. But I really dont pay much if ANY attention to bottle grows really.Thats why I love proper organics man.Cant beat the super stupid proof method of growing a badass type of super med plant while you have you feet on a desk listening to music doing you, not work. LOL

Edit:After thinking ,you could do something if you had say....a KIS soil standby or something similar thats ready to use,you could re pot and cut away or whatever...the pot and re pot thee entuire thing and give the roots a chance to find salvation LOL
