Awesome, I bought a property in a village last year mainly to grow my own food and recreation (to risky for weed there), people I bought it from didn't take any care of the land for years and it needs rejuvenating, this is some great info. Thanks JM!

jm i saw another post of yours that said bamboo ash is a source of silica i was wondering if i can just add the ash to my soil?

yes bamboo ash will give silica... I think that was in the high brix gardening thread?

yes... specific diatoms... not just the pool type.
green sand too I think... I certainlky would expect it too... not sure if its available in regular sand.. though its abundant thats for sure...
