Indoor my lowryder grow

no---is there a reason you asked that?

Hey there LittleT, I believe you are getting red stems due to a nitrogen deficiency or they are getting cold at night, what nutes have they had, and what are the high and low temps in the area?

right now i am using beastie bloom and mollases----temps are up and down--tent is pretty much outside lights keep it tollarable---no N in 2 feedings highs in the 60s lows 30s

Yeah it's almost definitely a cold related color change with those stats, a small oil filled heater set to 70 degrees would help them grow faster and process their food better, and they will be less likely to hermie due to stress. Of course that's more money on parts and electricity.... Can you get the temps up some how cheaply?

I'm having the same problem mate. Temperatures have dropped rapidly over the last week. Serious colour changes to the leaves an stems. Mine are much worse than yours by the looks of it.

I have 10 days to go and my heaters will probably be 3 more days until they arrive.

Sorry to hi-jack your thread T but I just wonder if it will kill my plants?

The heater should not kill anything if set to the right temp and not blowing hot air directly on the plants... The best kind of heater is the ambient kind, (oil filled usually, as I mentioned earlier) this allows warming of the area simply by using the flow of your circulation fan, and distributes heat a bit more evenly. Treat the heater like a light when determining how far away to put it from growth, use the back of your hand to see if the plants are heating up.... :firedevil:

Thanks for the speedy reply surf freak I was wondering about the cold killing them really. Sorry I should be more clear when I hi-jack

I'm dropping to about 52oF at night. I know it's bad. I have a couple of heated propagator bases hooked up at the moment to provide a bit of warmth.

The heaters I have ordered are 2ft oil filled tube heaters. 90w each. I have also ordered a weatherproof thermostat to keep my temps steady. I expect a bit of trial and error.

Thanks again for the advice

Cold won't actually kill a cannabis plant until it freezes, but the growth will slow to a crawl the lower the temp gets... I started my outdoor Plush Berry in may, and it was still dropping to high 30s low 40s most nights and those sprouts grew very slow until the heat picked up towards the end of may... So they'll live but not up to their full potential.....

Ahh that's great news. I thought I might lose my christmas buds :)
