Hello members of AFN, I am a newbie grower in almost my 10th week of 2 plants - a 'Vision Northern Lights' and a 'Delicious Cheese Candy' strain.
As it was my first grow and I was quite tight on budget and time, I was completely unprepared and only done the basic research but through all the struggles, Googling and trying to fix the deficiencies and problems my plants actually turned out much larger than I predicted (given the circumstances they were grown in)

The soil/compost I used was Miracle Gro (the expanding concentrated one) now I know people have been saying on different forums how this isn't the best option and that the results arent so great, but the big red badge on the front that said 'GROWS PLANTS TWICE AS BIG' sold it to me either way when I was at my local gardening centre.
Through the first week or two, my seeds/plants weren't receiving much light due to the fact that I was trying to use as much sunlight as possible and for the rest of the time they were in a garden shed.
After this I decided that since I have a 150w halogen lamp and a small display-cabinet 60w cfl, I might install these under my desk and create a small grow house for the time being as it was beginning to get cold and wet outdoors.

They stayed there for 2 weeks after which I decided to move them into the attic where I could install my newly purchased 600w HPS reflector along with some better ventilation.
Which brings us to now...

A week ago my Cheese plant started 'wilting' a little bit and becoming very yellow so I quickly purchased some different nutes (I believe it was 4-4-4) and I think I may have burnt it a bit as it has a large concentration of spots spreading and destroying the leaves..

So my final question is should I try to harvest these asap before the damage spreads to my buds, or are they not ready yet? The taller Northern Lights plant seems pretty healthy and its buds appear much 'richer' but again, this is my first grow so I have no idea what it should look like and when its actually ready. I hope you guys could give me some advice on this dilemma I'm having :help:

Thanks in advance

:peace:

PS: Once the plants were indoors, I tried to give them as much light as possible so from what I remember, and judging by my recent electricity bill, the HPS stays on roughly 15 hrs a day and there is also a 60w cfl very high above my plants which I turn on so they don't sit in absolute darkness. Just thought I should shed some light on my light cycle situation :)

IMG_0300.jpgIMG_0306.jpgIMG_0323.jpgI'm not the master grower but I'm going through my own trials. I'm keen to know what happened to the Cheese because I looks kind of like all my plants especially 2 which are Vision NLs. Mine are way worse as they looked that whack much earlier in the grow. Now they look southern fried. I'd venture yours is a ph problem. Funny it's just 1 of 2. Maybe the Northern is more resistant or you did something different between the 2?

Don't harvest early. Concentrate on the flowers and harvest when they're ready.

Now they look like this:

The 2 on the left are the same strain as your Northern. The one on the right is a White Dwarf. The Dwarf is all bud no leaf. No manicuring needed. The Northerns not much leafier. The Dwarf is any day now. The Northerns are taking longer. Almost Day 70 and pistils still fertile. Pistils look like yours. Despite the issues they are quite glandular. Therefore the reason for my rec.

Okay thanks for your input.

I think only one is getting damaged due to the fact that it was yellowing and wilting a bit more than the tall, healthy one so I panicked and quickly went to my gardening centre for some nutes. Best ones I could find were balanced NPK 4-4-4 so it wasnt ideal but I figured its better than nothing and hopefully it will help me with my issue. I mustve diluted a bit too much concentrate hence the major burn marks on the smaller Cheese plant where I've used the nutes mostly.
They are growing steady and arent showing signs of anything major, but I was asking about the early harvest just in case the burns would somehow spread closer to my buds and damage them.

Looks like your NL's are at the same stage as my one.
I just want them to be cut and dried already.. I really dont feel like paying my guy £10 for a .8g bag again when I got these two just chilling there
