New Grower Mi5 short stuff

I don't think it's anything to be concerned about, just seems slightly low, but yah probably in the next couple of days it will all just look f'n proper.

I agree with Squid, I would just stay with the unamended mix and supply all the nutrients the plant needs yourself. My only suggestion would be to check the pH of the Light Mix first and pH adjust it before starting your seeds. I would expect it to be right around 7 so add some sulfur to lower it to between 6.3 - 6.5. If you then feed the same pH you should have a stable pH throughout the whole grow.

thank you muddy. Are the cheap ph pens any good? :peace:Si

No, don't waste your money, put it toward a good one. They are notoriously inaccurate. The Hanna Combo is good for liquids, the Control Wizard Accurate 8 for soil. They are what I use.

Could i use a soil test kit for the soil and the ph pen for the liquid feed? Also should i test the feed ph eery times i make it up? Sorry for all the q|s :peace:

Yes, liquid tester for your nutrients and soil probe for your soil. You can get away with just a liquid tester if you don't have the $ to buy both right now. You should always test and adjust your feeds to the recommended setting, usually between 6.3 - 6.5. You can then feed the plants and capture some of the water than runs out the bottom and then test it. If you soil pH is in line the readings going in and coming out should be about the same.

The test kits with the paper and solution are okay for testing your feed but because of the color changes that take place when watering, they aren't very accurate for testing run off.

So to lower ph i can use the sulpher that you just sprinkle a little ontop of the soil?

I mix it up throughout the whole pot before I transplant my seedlings into their final 3 gallon pots. The type I have is from E.B. Stone and sort of looks like split peas. I add about 1 tablespoons per 3 gallon pot. There is also powdered but I haven't worked out the dosage on it yet.

I have a 27 day old MI5 in my first ever led grow so I'll be watching this thread to see how it goes, green karma sent fella :smokebuds:
