well... you need both... input ph and output ph... then avg between the 2 basically...

so say you go in at 6.5 and you get 6.7 out... your soil is probably 7.0

say you put 6.5 in and get 6.0 out your soil is probably 5.5 or so... hope this helps.. :smoke:

hmmmm so my mi5 went in at 6.4 she came out at 5.9 i know thats low so if the next feed i give just phd water to ph say6.8 7.0 will that bring her back on track? my tap water is a ph of 7.4 (ruffley) and when i put nutes in it takes it rite down to 6.5-6.4

weekley update

so its been a week since my last update and my mi5 is 38days old and shes flowering quite nice now shes on 3ml bloom and 1ml grow per litre of feed and temps are 78f and humidity is at 47%rh-55%rh heres some pics enjoy

She looks nice and healthy keep it up :smokebuds: How tall is she? I'm just curious to compare MI5's as mine is 10 days older and in a similar pot size as mine.

Thanks mate shes about 14" but ill find out for sure when i get a tape tomoz

That's cool fella thanks, after re-reading the thread I realised I've made a mistake my pots are half the size at 5L and they only have around 4L of soil mix in them and my girl is 9" Not big for her age but this is my first ever auto grow so I'm amazed she's still alive :dance2: but it's very interesting to compare what I have done/learned with the nice results you are producing :smokebuds:

kool can i ask a few ???s ....if ur ph testing the dirt and you are at say 6.5

yOU WATER in 6.5 and get 6.2 ur pretty much in balance or is it the nutes that give you the lower ph reading

if i run nutes and get a low ph on water can u just aerate it back up and check the ph again ...

i know you wanted a reply from JM but just thought id give you my view my tap water was at 7.4 then i added nutes it dropped to 6.5 but when i put it through my soil the ph was 5.9 so now after adding my nutes and its at 6.5 i ajust it up to 6.9-7.0 and my run off is between 6.4-6.6 hope this is of some help

This was also my first time growing i messed up loads with my pk but i learned alot at the same time ive just harvested my pk and i was pleased with what ive got. As soon as i germ my seed i put it straight into a 10litre i know alot of people say it may suffercate it but it seems to work for me and dont worry about the height my pk was short and fat lol
