Mephisto Genetics Mephisto 2nd Leg Starts May 1st (Signup and Battle)

Special pheno only means that while making the strain one stood out more than the rest. So they reversed it and then sell seeds as special pheno. But chances of getting that pheno is more likely when reversed.

That's good information, man! Thanks SS!

I've watched this closely ever since that crazy defol, impressive comeback from her. Do you get better yeilds with this technique or have you done a comparison?

Thanks man! Yes, the buds I grow with this technique are always denser and harder from the more direct light all budsites receive. Whenever, I skip this step, I see the difference. I will do it without thought every grow from now on. I know it is controversial, but we do what we do!

I'm not sure I love mephisto for sure but I see a lot of different growth size bud structure ect that are different even though it's the same strain I've had this occur nemurus times to me with only there originals like SODK. That cheesy smell should come through soon and again great job she looks

Thanks Fitzy.! This was my first Mephisto, and first time I have done anything but DP in a bit. The smaller stature is a concern for me, but that will be alleviated if the smoke is special.

Mine was and I could yield the same as a big plant in the same size space using it 1gal pots with coco and it's one of the only autos I've grown that tasted very smooth light floral berry with a hint of cheese I'm going to cross the blue toof reg I made with a Auto ultimate to help size . I hope she finishes well for you and I hope it's the cheese pheno the others are just as potent bud just don't taste the UK cheese cut they used with them

Thanks Fitzy! That sounds well worth it to me! Even more excited to taste these!

Bluetooth special is one of my all time favorite night time strains. That's one of the nicest ones I've ever seen.

A great looking plant brother.

Hey Archaic! I actually came across a post of yours where you said just that about the Blue Toof Strain. It was that testimonial that convinced me to grow it out! So I appreciate it, man!

And that's very high praise coming from you! Thank you! I am looking forward to see how she finishes!

@Iriee Vibez - great job there with your aggressive defoliation. I tried that once two years ago .... had two Barney's Farm Sweet Tooths going. Did the same kind of intense bud-based defoliation (BBD) on one, but not on the other. The plant with BBD stalled out and wound up 6" smaller (more than 23% shorter) than the one that didn't get the buzz-cut. But interestingly, it yielded about 2% more. I swore that I wouldn't do that again, but your grow inspires me to take a 2nd look at this technique. Timing is likely a critical factor. I notice that you did the major defol at day 34; I did mine at day 58. I think I'll try it again, but much earlier in the grow, eh? :smoking:

Right on, Only! My plants are usually the same height and even looked similar. Like you, I was surprised to see that the same sized bud weighed so much more with the BBD plant. The bud density and weight was very different! I usually do it after the first week of flower, whenever that falls.

Like I said, I am a believer after not doing it during my last grow. I think the only reason I didn't was that she was in a battle and wanted a pretty plant. Well, I got that, and first place in the lighting grow, but I am sure I left a couple ounces in the water! I need those grams with this smaller plant, and my indica jars running low!

@Iriee Vibez - yeh, Roger That .... after 1st week of flower. :greencheck::coffee:Your picture of this on page 51 shows the stage of flower development --- is that when you did the defol, or would you say you did it several days earlier? :cool1:
