Hi guys. Just curious if anybody out there is growing melons in their gardens? Wondering if I should feed these guys? There are some melons on here that are getting big. But a few seem to have stalled out a little . I’m wondering if anyone has any advice as to what I can do to help it produce a few more decent sized fruits on there? It’s our second year trying to grow them. Last year we ended up with just 2 or 3 cantaloupes and they tasted good but we’re on the small size. This year we’re doing a bit better but could still be better.

I love cantaloupes. How many hours of direct sun are you getting? You'll want at least 5 and another couple of filtered at the very least. I treat cantaloupes the same way I treat my cucumbers. What are you feeding them? I hit mine with vegging nutes once a week and flowering notes early in 1st flower development cycle and then again after the first round of fruiting has pretty much finished to encourage more flowering and I usually get a couple rounds of blooms before fall. Good luck! -edit... I'm growing them in large containers on a 2nd story patio as it's the only useable space on our property that gets enough direct sunlight.

Some of them just detached from the vines by themselves this week. So we tried them. Maybe I’m a little biased because I grew them myself , but I think they are the sweetest tasting/ smelling melons I’ve ever tasted LoL! Hey we’re delicious! A little on the small side but pretty good nonetheless. The larger sized one that we had we didn’t wait long enough for it to ripen and it tasted kind of bland. We have a few more still growing.
