I'm about 5 weeks into this grow already I just didn't get around to starting this thread until now. I'm basically running the same setup as usual but I'm trying out 8l smart pots instead of the 6.5l plastic pots. So far they've worked well. I was a bit concerned that they would be more difficult to water with water potentially coming out the sides. That has not been an issue at all, they're just as easy to water as plastic pots and they seem to drain a bit better.

SETUP
The setup will be as follows:
Tent: 60x60x120cm (2x2x4 ft) Homebox XS
Fan: TD silent 280/380m3/h running at 150V
Filter: Carbon active 300m3/h
Light: GN MS0006 with 6 rebel modules. 24/0 during veg and 12/12 during flower.
Soil: Atami Light-mix in 8L smart pots (gronest brand) with ~30% perlite mixed in.
Nutrients: Canna rhizotonic root stimulator, TNT complex(veg), bloom complex and phosphorus plus. Additionally I'm adding some Bionova microlife (contains beneficial microorganisms) and some GHE mineral magic (basically just a silicon additive).
SCROG net with 5cm squares

I figured I would start out with a quick recap of the grow so far. I dropped one seed each of Compassion, Night queen and CBD Kush into separate shot glasses with water and left them there for 24 hours. I then dropped the seeds into the final pots and watered with 0.5l mixed with a full dose of rhizo and Canna mono Mg (1ml/l). Four days later the CBD Kush and the Night queen popped up and the stem of the Compassion was showing although it was not completely above ground, but I will call this day 1 anyway. The compassion was fully up the next day.

Day 15

CBD Kush in upper left corner, Night queen in upper right corner and the Compassion in the lower right corner. This will be their final position once the screen comes down. This should give the Compassion a bit more space to stretch in case it decides to show off its sativa heritage.

Day 19

Noticed a slight Mg deficiency on the Compassion, NQ and CBDK looked ok. I was watering with 0.5ml/l of Canna mono Mg so I upped it to 1ml/l and the Mg def resolved within a few days.

Day 25/1

First day of 12/12. I've been shortening the veg time each grow as I get the setup more dialled in and also because my space is small the plants don't need to get huge, in fact, it's just a lot of work to train them when they start to grow into eachother. My first photo grow I did 44 days of veg due to an early Mg def and now I managed to step by step cut it down to 25 days.

Day 30/6

Stretch started to kick in. The screen got a bit congested in a few places so I tried to spread the branches out a bit more. The compassion stretched quite a bit and left a hole just above where the pot is. I'm going to try and let the Night queen fill out that space.

Day 37/13 Today

I noticed that the side shoot on the Compassion is overtaking the main shoot and the side shoot on the opposing side is tiny. I haven't seen that before. I've pulled it below the screen now so it shouldn't matter anymore.

They're currently on 1/2 strength bloom nutes and 1ml/l of Mg. They each get 3l of water every 3 days so about a litre a day per plant.

Hi DB, a nice medical selection. Lets hope that screen fills up with buds - and enjoy the different varieties

Thanks Tony! I've been curious about the Compassion for a while. I normally don't go for the sativas as they make me nervous/edgy but I wonder if that could be offset by the high CBD content. I read the review in the blog and it sounded pretty interesting so I thought I would give it a try.

CBD Kush is an amazing high, and superb medicinal qualities. So much so that I made it a point to go greet the CDB Crew and thank them for their work at Spannabis last year. I thought the rated 7% 1:1 would be weakish, plus the CDB would tame down the high and make is a mild smoke, but I can guarantee that is not the case. In fact, it's (was) one the best smokes for me, perfectly balanced. It's a quit and direct hitter but won't turn me into a loompa-loompa. I really don't enjoy getting super smashed these days. But I do love smoking, so it's brilliant for active sunny days outside. Zero restlessness, completely soothing.

Night Queen is sooo sooo soooo good as a night smoke that I've popped 6 NQ into my RDWC. Long overdue. That's when I toke out the most, so I appreciate not having the next day baggy eyes and "hangover". NQ really prepares me for sleep and kicks my random insomnia right in the nuts. Very easy to grow with excellent rewarding yields

I've heard good things about Compassion too, but never tried it.

You are in for a treat buddy! Sub'ed

Thanks for joining in Groff. Looks like I've found a fellow CBD Kush aficionado. I've grown it before and it has become the staple of my stash. Much like you I have found it to be a very nicely balanced high, relaxing with no anxiety.
Then of course the Night queen would be for night time. I've found that I prefer a more THC rich strain to help me sleep. The compassion I'm hoping will be more suited as a day time smoke.
Would you say there is a significant difference in how tired/sleepy the Night queen makes you compared to a "regular" indica?

This grow has been pretty straight forward so far. No major issues. I wanted to have the larger branches along the edge of the screen so that they could be allowed to grow a bit taller and create a bowl effect but I misjudged the stretch and it didn't turn out the way I had hoped. It might still be possible with some work to create a more bowl like canopy but we'll see.

Day 43/19

I treated myself to a wake and bake on Saturday and by the time the lights in the tent came on I was no longer in shape or mood to work in the garden so I thought I would let them manage on their own for a day. Normally I train them every day so they don't grow too tall above the screen.
When I checked the tent on Sunday the Compassion had taken the opportunity to stretch its legs. It's mostly visible in the lower left corner. With a bit of coaxing I managed to get it more evened out height wise.

Day 46/22

The smell is starting to come in. A funny thing I noticed is that during veg the Compassion really smelt like pickled food. I can't quite figure out exactly which one but it's something pickled. Now that they've hit flower it's more of a floral and earthy smell.
The Night queen main cola has really spread it's wings and is taking up a good portion of the lower right corner.

I'm still feeding them 1/2 strength bloom nutes and they look happy with that so I will stay there for now.

Nice to have you along my friend. I still got a bit of my stash left but a refill wouldn't hurt :smoking:.

Things are chugging along pretty well. I have to admit I haven't spent as much time as I should have in the tent and they've gotten a bit out of control. I thought the stretch was mostly over so I stopped pulling them under. As you will see in the pictures it was not quite over . Especially the Compassion had a lot of stretch left in it. I think I will try to rearrange them a little bit to get them more evenly spread out. I will have to twist tie them to the top of the screen though, as tall as they're now it's pretty difficult to pull them under.

Day 51/27

I started adding in more PK so the feeding last time was 1/2 bloom, 1/5 PK and 1ml/l mono Mg.

It's a bit messier than I'd like but I think it should work out ok. I will shorten the veg time even more next run. I'm thinking around 21 days, this time around it was 25. They look so small at 21 days though, it's hard to imagine they would be able to fill the screen.

Nice looking grow and a fine looking set-up. Looks like they are going to be filling the tent. Have u got your screen attached to the tent poles? Getting ready to start scroging after I harvest this grow. This one got away from me. Was just looking into making a screen but that looks like a neat idea. Can u raise or lower it? May have to change plan. Happy Growing

Thanks man! The screen is zip-tied to the tent poles, it can still slide up down if you move it one corner at a time. I think the easiest way to make one is to go to the hardware store and see what they have. I found some aluminium u-profiles, I believe they were originally intended to mount SMD LED strips on, some 90 degreee brackets and some thick soft string. I then cut the profiles to length so they would just fit in the tent so when the screen is done it stays up with due to friction and then I secure it with zip-ties. The tedious process was drilling all the holes but the profiles are quite thin so it's not too bad. Then I screwed it together with the brackets and covered the joint with shrink wrap so that it doesn't scratch the tent poles. Then I used 2 lengths of string to lace the screen and that's it.

Cool I'm in a 2x4 tent and this may work perfectly. Was trying to avoid any connection to poles for fear of it pulling the poles Inward but with a rigid frame the weight will be transferred straight down. Right now I'm scroging without a net. Plants have forecast with growth. I have bent and weaved over 20 side branch's trying desperately to keep them out of the lights but very time I do they and the branches on them turn right back up into lights. The last side branch I measured was 72 inches. My tent is only 60. Lol. My buddy says that's what I get for doing to good a job. Yea ha ha. The sad thing is is that the nodes stayed tight and the light just can't penetrate to them all. The yield would have been sweet if it could. 2nd hydroponic grow and never expected such massive growth. Tks for the advice. That should help the next grow. Happy Growing
