Dutch Passion MedGrower does Blue AutoMazar (MS006/HS1/DWC)

Well, at least I'm in early on this run! :pop: As the Reefer said:

Hi MedGrower. Im subbed. Love this strain.

So do I!

Only grew it once in last years BAM Slam and it's very nice for all sorts of reasons, I moved to the Dragons for the rest of last year (still got some BAM seeds left thou!)

It's not that I don't understand the DWC method or want to try it out but, after your AU grow I'm so intrigued. The other thing is living in rented accommodation with suspect electrics, I'm loath to have any large amounts of water in or near the tent for safeties sake!

HS1's are in my opinion the best thing since sliced bread, low energy consumption, yes expensive and more than capable of giving good results (with the right diffusers? I'm having to make do with 3 90 x 60's at the moment, we shall see!)

Anyway, I'm subbed and looking forward to this :pass:

Wowser that's a good looking gal! Nice thick buds! Good job!

Yeah Mikey, safety is number 1 with any hydroponics setups. That's why I wanted to go with DWC since it is pretty idiot -proof if you just invest in right kind of materials. Always have your airpump secured above the water level. If you are feeling insecure with the actual reservoir holding up for some reason; why not place it on a large solid vat that can hold even all the water that might drip? I designed my DIY system so that you have to use actual waterpump to pump the water out from above. That leaves the whole container solid, thus eliminating any possible leak hazards. It wouldn't be nice to come back home just to know you have to redo the hardwood floor. If you going to go with DIY way, make sure your plastic material is polypropylene (resin identification code 5) since it is pretty hardy and durable stuff that can take acidity. Just shield it from UV rays.

I went with DWC orginally just because I didn't want to deal with all that dirt and stuff. Too much to carry out in cause attention in my neighbourhood.

DAY 12

pH 6.2
EC 0.9
RH 41

Started bending her down gently and removed all four large fan leaves to let the light in to the inner nodes. Wouldn't have plugged any leaves if there would have been any problems, she seems strong and healthy enough to handle it. Changed the reservoir nutes.

FEED:
Sensi Grow 24ml
Voodoo Juice 21ml
Carboload 21ml
Rhinoskin 21ml
B52 21ml

QUESTION for AN users: Do you guys experience stained roots when using AN products? I first suspected that it would be Voodoo Juice that would have stained my roots to brown colour but I am starting to suspect it is B52. Both, this Blue AutoMazar and CBD Kush are experiencing quite brown roots while still smelling ok. Just wanting to hear from your experience and make sure everything is going like it should. I will post pictures of the rootzone when I have time to do that.

Going to add some Sensizyme to this one at weekend.

It is a good light alright! I like to stare at the gpw quite a bit and when one MS0006 takes 180w and one HS1 takes 75w, it would be little unfair to compare the two between just themselves. One thing I really liked about MS0006 was that is was really fairly priced. Now I don't mind paying for quality product like HS1 but 500e per unit when you would really like to have 4 of them takes quite a bit of saving.

Can't wait to see the new GN models though!
Yeah i know what you mean. Im still saving to buy my fourth one now and im not sure if it will make much of a difference to the yield.
Im looking forward to hearing more about GN new light whenever that will be.

If you are adding Voodoo juice which is a beneficial bacteria that is most likely what is staining the roots. I dont use that product but i make a super tea which is pretty much the same ass voodoo juice and the rest of the beneficial AN products except mines better as i make it fresh and its organic. I get the same thing once i add my tea.

DAY 16

pH 6.0
EC 1.0
RH 50

Been noticing that pH has been starting to fall rapidly. For some, yet unknown reason it always happens around this point between weeks 3 and 4. Besides that only thing I've been doing is LST on the plant and some leaf tucking. Rootzone is tanned, picture below, has been having me bit on edge since it sure looks ugly but smell is fine and there are no visible adverse effects above the rootzone. So I take it is tanning from beneficial bacteria.

Hi @MedGrower
Yeah that plant is perfect dude. Dont worry about the light staining that occurs. Sometime mine gets so bad it looks like it came out of a soil based medium. As long as it smells earth and sweet its fine but if the smells changes to a rotten egg/ farts then its not good.

DAY 22

pH 6.1
EC 1.3
RH 35 - 50

Just avoided a disaster this morning. I haven't checked the pH in couple days because life has been busy and as I did check it this morning it was 5.2. Corrected it back to 6.1. Plant looks just healthy, no signs of lockouts or anything so I guess we can call that a close one. :eek1: Streching has now begun clearly and I am just consentrating on LST and defoliation as she continues to fill out the area.
