Hey what's up everyone. You might remember me but I am a new grower in a hps grow box. Iv got a 2x2x4 grow box. I have a 70w bulb, and contrary to what people have said it is plenty of light for her as far as I can tell. So far the temp has been at a perfect 78 deg constantly. Humidity is constantly at 55. My plant is about 3 and 1/2 weeks oldnow. She is at almost 18 inches tall. Blue mistic from nirvana seeds.

So, the issue. The tips of all the leaves are just (just!) Starting to have a yellow tint. I'm worried that this is going to continue and get worse.

I have not used any nutes, I do not check my ph, and I use room temp tap water to water her. So far I have been watering every 3 to 4 days.

Everything has been going perfectly and if this is a problem then I want to catch it before it becomes worse.

Thanks for your help in advanced!

soil hydro ? what soil are you using ? could be p h or start of n deficit

:peace:You should check your PH it should be around 6.4 going in and the runoff should be close to that.Your tap water probably way to high.Only water when needed, not by a schedule. At 18 inches she should have some nutes preferably veg nutes at a light dose, maybe a 1/4 to 1/2 the recomended dose.Until we no your PH thats about all i can tell you.

anything in bold sort out and list your media

18 inches for a 3 1/2 week old plants sounds like it's stretching a lot, indicating either the light isn't sufficient or is too far away from the plant. Optimum node spacing is about 1", I'm guessing yours are a lot farther apart. Most plants are generally in the 6-8" range at that age.

Before we can give you any good information we would need to know the pH of your feed and of the run off. Also some pictures of the plant would be helpful.

okay

I am using miracle grow porting soil. I don't water on a schedule but it needs to be watered every 3 or 4 days. The plant is stratching a lot, the branches are about 4 inches apart. I'll post pics when I get to my computer later. What's the best way to test ph? Where can I get a tester? Where can I buy nutes?

I think I caused it to grow tall, I think I moved the light up too high too fast. But its still young and there are about 15 points where buds are just starting. I feel like it will stop growing up now and focus on growing outwards.

I didn't want to use nutes, especially now that the buds are starting I feel like I might be too late to start. Since its my first grow I think I want to see how she will do on her own.

I believe the ph is my problem, but let's say it is too low or high. What do I add to change it? How much? How often? Do I need to do a "flush?"

Thanks, sorry if that's a lot of info

I assume this is a 70w hps if it is its to far away i run my 600w hps 18" away i would assume for flower that would have to be about 6"-10" away but worked slow down to that point.

you don't know if the ph is to high or to low so don't add anything

Yeah, 70w hps bulb. It's about 6 inches above the plant. And I won't add anything until I test my ph, I'm just curious how I would go about doing it.

I think muddy told me the bulb isn't big enough but it seems to be enough light for her.

optimal wise it should do 13"x13" in flower so maybes 1 short plant so he is right in what hes saying plus lumens per watt is not that efficient until you pass the 400w hps stage with 600 being the best
plants need less light in veg vs flower so bear that in mind
water as normal and test runoff for ph if the pot is small it could just be out of food
