I finish up my 3 day on work cycle tomorrow night so then il have 3 days off. Its suppose to be nice here weather wise so possibly go out on the boat and do some fishing.

Also got to re arrange one of my tents. Going to use 2 of the 900w panels instead of 1 with 4 300w panels. So thatl be a fun time full of curse words im sure lol. They get heavy trying to hold and secure those lights lol.

Cool, I wish I have a three day off each week though. LOl. But hopefully the holiday is coming, I am planning a small trip. haha.

Welcome to AFN. I registered @ Marshydro yesterday and had a good look around while I was there. I am looking to replace my HID's with LED's mostly for the lesser heat generated (and they look like they produce great results too, of course).

Is there a formula for required watts per sq./ft? I mean different from HID HPS/MH @ 50W per sq. ft?
I have a 4 x 8 x 6'7" tent and run 2 600 watt'ers (I could go 3 really) so I wondered if I should go 2-1200W's or 3 700W's? or...

What would you recommend for that space? Where I live it gets HOT outside in the summer... in the 100's easy for weeks and months so heat is always an issue and I wanna grow all year, so...

Someone said they got their lights from you? Is there an advantage to this (I mean, I'm sure you're very busy and I don't wanna bother you). Got a nice welcome from Sara, that was sweet, so I feel ok about "bothering" her.:WTF:

~Less heat
~Better penetration
~Better yields

thank you for your time~
aloha

Hey Hapa welcome to AFN MarsHydro section and great choice on making the switch trust me you or your pockets won't regret it.

LED's operate a bit diffrent you really are looking at PAR instead of watts per sq ft. Now don't get me wrong 40-50watts per sq ft would be killer with LED but not necessary. I Try not to go below 30 watts per sq ft.

3 - 700W MARsII would be nice in that tent but keep in mind if you plan on doing a SOG or SCROG those lights cover a 3.5x3.5' footprint. So if you had plants from one end of the tent to the other the plants along the tent walls may lack just a bit. Don't get me wrong those 3 will Deff light up that tent like no other.

2- 1200w MARsII would be awesome to man.

IMO I like more lights. The PAR levels directly center under the lights is always the highest so with more lights your Par levels will be a more even spread throughout your tent.

Either decision you make will Kill it man and won't dissapoint.

welcome to The MarsHydro Led World!

Hello Hapa, Really thank you for your stopping by. You asked a very good question, I would like to answer you also I think it is a good informaiton to share with other growers here. Here below is a requirements watt for per sft of HPS, CFL and LED need, summerized by a very professional grower and many of our customers say it is very useful. "How much light should I use?The following is a MINIMUM light requirement for productive growth in the vegetative stage:CFL: 42.25 watts per square footHPS/MH: 32.5 watts per square footLED: 22.75 watts per square footThe following is a MINIMUM light requirement for productive growth in the flowering stage:CFL: 65 watts per square footHPS/MH: 50 watts per square footLED: 35 watts per square foot"From what I know, you will need 22.75~35watt/sft during veg and you need 35~50watt/sft during flower under LED. Also please notice the watt is actually watt. For your space, 4x8x6.7, I would suggest you go with two of our 1200w lights, to get your space well covered and also get around 37.5watt/sft at 18 inches hight. For the advantage of our lights?-Less heat, less power waste, therefore in the long run, you can save a lot. -We use the light spectrum you plants will need so they will grow more healthy under it. -You will get more denser and bigger buds with our lights. Also they will taste better. :) I am glad I can help, if you have any more question, please post here.
