Yes, the new angel design will get the plants covered better :d5:
Tina i love the way the new Light has its Edges angled in some.

I normally use 4 of the 300w on the corners of my 5x5 angled in with the 192x3w Reflector in the middle.

This Run il change the Reflector out with the Mars ll 900w

April needs to Hurry up!
April is coming soon as now is already the middle of March. Time runs fast :coffee2:

Thanks elsamurai. I just hear from our engineer the footprint of this new light is 4'x2' at the hight of 18 inches.
that's a great idea with the angle's on the new light :)

Dear all my friends, I have a favor to ask, I have a customer who purchased our 700w light and told me the temperature is around 29(bottom)~31C(Top) in his tent. While it is still winter at his place, it is a little strange. Below is his set up info., please help me to see if there is anything wrong? Any suggestion is highly appreciated.
" On top I have carbon filter and fan out, and on the bottom I have passive air intake hole. The air coming out of my Mars II unit was very hot and even the metal case of the lights was hot. "
"On the top of the tent( 160 cm) about 20 cm from light I had 31C and on the very bottom 29C without plants."

Hello Tina.

Sounds like he is using the basic set up with air flow from inside house. Those who have the ability to draw fresh air and exhaust it outside, generally, can beat the heat. Most of us do not have the ability to modify homes etc. So--we do the best we can with our environment.

I have your 600 watt unit (with another 800 watts of LED). Sometimes the heat will be greater in LED units that are smaller with high wattage. Mine is warm to the touch and does release about the same temp. levels. This doesn't concern me for anticipated more heat generated.

You might suggest fans. At minimum he needs one softly blowing across plants to mimic normal outdoor environment to strengthen stems, cool plants/tent and to hinder insects/fungus etc.

The second fan should be positioned above plants and near top of LED to circulate air.

He can also play around with intake and exhaust levels. It is important to have independent speed controls on each one. Suggest fan speed controls.

I have three portable fans and a mister for I grow in very dry/hot environment.

The key is air circulation.

Also, suggest he take a look at set ups for exhaust on internet. Often it is just a matter of moving tent around, adding fans, adding a mister if too dry etc.

A few weeks ago, just moving tent away from room door--dropped temp down--must have been a hot spot in original position where air does not circulate out of the room.

If he had an equivalent HPS light the temps would be in three figures without proper cooling.

Cheers

Thanks GCase for your great advice below, I am not sure the room temperature outside of his tent, I guess I need to figure this out first. It might be the air flows not so smooth or other reasons. :d5: I hope the problem can be solved quickly so he can use our light for his grow. Thanks again for your kind advice, I will give him your thought to see how things get going. :tiphat:

Tina I agree , I am in the tropics and am by know means a expert on Led lights, but I am thinking what is his outside temps where he has the tent , could that be a problem ?

It occurs to me that if his tent is only 160cm tall it's quite likely it's no wider than 90cm.

The panel is 39cm x 38cm and hung around 140cm high. Tbh unless I'm way wrong about the tent size he's running too big a panel in both physical and power terms.

Only having roughly 25 cm clearance on each side might sound ok but once the sides of the tent are sucked in by the negative pressure it's quite a bit less.

Adding the space taken up by the carbon filter and fan leads me to think the panel is suffering from having to recirculate it's own hot air which might still be ok if it was getting cool fresh air from outside. Since it isn't getting it the effect of the tent getting hot anyway with such a large panel and the air in the room itself getting hot will only continue to compound the problem so somehow he needs to take heat from some part of the whole dynamic. A fresh air intake from outside or venting the hot air outside should solve it but if not a smaller light might be best!

That's what I've been hoping someone would do - an angled panel with Cree bulbs makes me moist at the thought! Sold!

Hi everyone...Is there a specific thread for reflector series grow as I can't seem to find one? If not where would the best place be to put my journal

He lives in UK so the outside temperature should not be high, but I am not sure about his room temperature. Other growners give me suggestion that he need to make bigger holes for the cool air to come in, also add another fan, etc. Not sure which is the best way. I am still waiting for my customer's feedback. :peace:

Hey sniper, this is not our sun series, it is another new light with cree chips, they just came out. Right now I do not have the sample, so I cannot take a picture of it from the side for you.
