Mephisto Genetics Mark SIP grow Toofless alien and gold glue

Thats a good question @AJrexxx I myself between 3 5gallon pots I put about 100+/- worms
Yeah I have my own worm bins and put them in my living soil pots in-between grows to break up the roots an soil. I usually only put a palm full in a ten gallon. I have been looking at one of these systems for awhile just haven't pulled the trigger. I am looking for something to constantly cycle and never change. In my head I know healthy worms given space lay eggs about every 25-30 days as long as the environment has room. They at some point stop producing during overcrowding.

In my head this makes idea makes sense and I am high as fuck right now so bear with me. I feed my worms a dry food I make between layers of scraps made of biochar, kelp meal. oyster shell flour, and barley malt. So I was thinking small amount of worms top feeding them with my food mix.

The reason I am thinking this is I have experimented with worm castings and worms a bunch and what I have noticed is once your over about 50% worms casting your medium turns claylike and mushy (especially if worms are in the container). I tried 100% worm castings as well (worst pot I have ever smoked.). Again thinking of sustaining for as long as possible with just having to amend no soil switch out. Worms typically eat half their weight a day so if you put a lb in they are going to go through 1/2 pound a day food/soil a day. They will re eat the casting of course if new food is not supplied, this is what starts to turn into the denser clay like casting. Some people say they work better I have top dressed with both and see no issues either way, but in a closed system like this at some point I think you would go less than optimal.

Okay so this post has gotten way to long. When I read it in the morning I am sure it is not going to make as much sense as it does now.

@AJrexxx its my first time doing this and so far I've had 0 issues but im starting to think about all the castings and when should I dump and add fresh soil or something. Then again if I do that I'll probably have extra soil and no where to store it and don't want to get rid of my worms ..

I prefer Korean Natural Farming FAA. Basically go to a fish monger buy about 5lbs of fish heads (cheapest they have ocean fish better) and cover the heads with 5lbs of Brown sugar. 6 months later your have FAA strain it and your done. I use about one ML per gallon every week or two. You get the amino's plus a food source for your other microbes and its cheap. I made a batch two years ago is still going strong...believe it or not shit doesn't taste bad or smell funky either. Very weird but it works.
Bro I am right there with u! Haven’t done fish yet but have banana and mango FFJ I made and this is fermenting now....... :cooldance:

Rounded up some dandelions and then rinsed and cut into separate piles for root/leafy greens for veg/ and the flower heads and stalks for flower and had em fermenting in milk jugs! Flower looks about done bubbling so gonna strain soon! Root and veg need another week so put breathable lid on it to help it go! Added some LaB at the start that I also made! Made em5 and other pest sprays too! Def a kick ass method and sooooo much better then buying bottles!:headbang:

I actually only split 1/2lb between 2 boxes so was just a lil handful each but running 3 cycles back to back so like since January they just been breading and multiplying like crazy! Turned 1 junior into a giant worm bin so will do with this box soon and then lure some out to put a lil handful into box once cleaned and refilled! My full size is crazy! I did maybe a 1/2lb or lil less and after a plant I killed 1/2 way and then 1 run I ad so many I let box dry out lil too much so I could move it and in 30hrs these all jumped out the drain hole!

Found all those along the wall behind box cuz jumped out the overflow hole! I realized needed water in res and top water plus gave em build a soil gnarly barley and barley straw and leafs to keep em in the damn box! :crying:

I’m stoned also but makes sense cuz the box I dumped out def had some straight liquid worm castings globs in there! Mixed some fresh soil to cut it down and then I’m gonna soft some before long! Did give em plenty of straw and other goodies to eat! But ya I now realize although it will work to run back to back in these best to dump out/ amend soil or replace and then add worms back in!

ALSO IF ANYONE IS INTERESTED THE CODE ORGMEPHHEAD WILL SAVE U 15% OFF EARTHBOX ORDERS UNDER $500! Just saying always nice to save some dinero! :d5:
Haven’t added worms yet but got @RocBudInc purple dodgers going in 4x4 in a junior now!

Fighting a ph issue cuz my dumbass amended plain sphagnum moss with compost and craft blend BUT I FORGOT DOLOMITE LIME! By time I saw few spots slurry tester and was at 5.3ph so added lime anna oyster shell flour! Getting close to end as is so she’ll make it! :smokeit:

These boxes still going strong! Dumping after this round tho cuz waaaaay too much worm poo inside em now! Settles to the bottom unless worms are thick inside d that deep! They def still happy and healthy! :cooldance:View attachment 1239576View attachment 1239577View attachment 1239578
:vibe:
You should just bulk it up with some light browns and keep using it. Just get some rice hulls and bark or even chaff. Dried broken leaves would be the ticket if ya have em this time of year. That’s all you need to get the fungal growth growing real hard and then it will balance out and be great stuff. Put some carbon back in the soil and that will be great stuff.

Yeah I was thinking again about this no till is not really that important to me if you re amending and adding Beneficial's I am going to use that handy code TxRebel gave out and order one for experiment. I think I am going to start real small on the worms and after two runs split it in half with new soil and run two if l like them. Just my though at this point.

My favorite ffj has been sweet potato skins or beet root scraps from the garden. I have also done aloe, banana peel, wild mogwart, and combination of wild flowers. TO me the FAA makes a big difference especially in veg. Then in flour I switch over to the WCP in flower. How important is the dolomite in your soil mix? I never really use it in mine was just curious. What is your soil mix I missed that in my stoned haze of reading.

This soil was stuff I built from scratch just did it the cheater way with craft blend instead of individual amendments! The sphagnum moss base only sits in mid 5’s out the bag so that was why I needed it! ALSO I USE LAB FOR MICROBES AND WHEN I WENT TO USE SOME LEFTOVER WATER IN A JUG THAT SAT ABOUT TWO DAYS I FINALLY CHECKED PH ON IT FOR A CHANGE AND HAD DROPPED TO 4.4!!! Why my soil even after adding lime and oyster shell flour hasn’t came up to where it should be so put today’s water to 7.5 and top watered it in to hopefully raise soil finally so she can finish with ease!
Also @Organic Sinse i do add old fan leafs, barley straw and other goodies for the worms to eat including oly mountain fish compost! It’s the running box 200 days straight without dumping it that I now have ginormous amounts of castings in there and bunches have leaked down into the reservoir! Not sure if I should dump it or take box outside and feed garden hose into fill tube and turn it on slow so the pressure can force those castings out! Prob should just dump it into a worm bin and then harvest few handfuls of worms and some castings and start cycle over again! :smokeit:
Also my dumb ass running my 1st photo plant I forget I had my intake fan on roof of tent so it also lets light in thru there and with tent being in my bedroom I wound up stressing her from all the light leaking in and hermied my 1st plant! :cuss::doh::cuss::doh:

I just got the $19.99 earthbox junior that comes with the container & covers only! No soil and none of their nutrients! I actually don’t know of anyone that has used their soil in em! Mines a bag of $10 sphagnum peat moss I cut with lil coco and lil pumice and amended with down to earth and build a soil dry amendments and then brought to life while it was baking!
Good luck n happy growing bud!:pass:
Did you add compost? That might be your PH issue.
