I believe this plant has Mg def symptoms. It's grown in mostly coco, 32 inches away from a quantum board style light that is drawing about 60Watts from the wall. It's an Auto WWxBB from Female Seeds. Her cotyledons opened on Jan 28th, she had some slow groth at the beginning due to cold temps and then bad transplanting stunted her.

Anyhow, these symptoms started slightly showing as soon as I started feeding with pH closer to the 5.8 point, and I also happen to feed Ca-Mg supplement at half the usual dose and on top of it I got the plant closer to the light yesterday... so symptoms became more evident today.

The plant was being watered with 484 ppm (65 tap, 323 MegaCropV1, 56 CalMag pro, 50 epsom)[0.5 conv] at 5.8-5.9 pH... today I increased to nute strength by just increasing MC1 ( 570 ppm... 60 tap, 400 mc1, 60 camg, 50 epsom) and setting ph at 6.2-6.3.

Was this a correct? Tomorrow I plan to turn on the Autopot system so not sure If i should fill the reservoir with the same EC and pH as today's watering or maybe change something, maybe pH closer to 6.0? Any input is appreciated.

Heya!! :D

I'm not seeing a Mg def on your leaves there! All looks fairly normal to my eyes! ^_^

As for the coco and calmag, i'd recommend PHing to 5.8 and adding low dosage calmag with most feedings (especilly if growing with LED)

Keep doing what you're doing and don't panic! :D

Hope this helps!

edit: .. I didn't answer the question at all!! .

Yes it would be a good way to correct a calmag issue. It's mostly recommended to knock up a Foliar spray of epsom salts and water with a surfacant to get into the plant as fast as possible (quicker than watering it in)!

Hey there, I think I’m having a little bit of the same thing. And that’s exactly what I thought it was as well. I’m using dry amendments in mostly Coco.

:smoking: Well, interveinal chlorosis can be caused by more than one thing, but Mg defc. is the usual suspect,... I get this sometimes with my COB's/LED's regardless of inputs, even foliars don't seem to correct it, but it also doesn't seem to progress much if at all after that... So, something is in play there!
Try a foliar with epsoms (MgSO4), 1tsp/L and using a wetting agent is critical for good results; this makes the soln. coat and stick instead of beading up, a little will do say 1/2tsp/L.. castile can do in a pinch... oh get the bottoms of the leaves for sure, more stomata located there vs. the topside...2-4 applications over a week, then stop...

@Waira, should I expect the chlorosis to turn back to green? In my case the chlorosis progressed a bit on each leaf that showed it, but stopped this weekend and seems it hasn't progressed any further and new growth looks nice. I activated the Autopot system on Friday, so maybe that helped.
I was watering too often... and curiously the side of the pot on which I always started watering has a leaf with tip clawed (like in N tox) and after clawing the blades started showing yellow (like maybe K def but due to antagonism with excess N?). Next run I'll make sure I follow advice and go light on waterings the during first weeks before switching on the Autopot valve.

Any how, here are some pics of the plant today:

Unrelated question... What are those plastic strips on top of your coco? Pest related??

Probably not with the old leafs but like you said new ones are healthy.

Yes, I usually paint them yellow but have been lazy this run... they are for fungus gnats and also to catch springtails... but this round it has only been gnats landing there. Can't get the thuringensis varietry of the Bt bacteria shipped here to fight them more effectively, though... just traps and a little hunting every morning.

Mg defc. can color correct, like N defc.,... being mobile nutes (within the plant) this helps! ....Usually some non-necrotic color loss will return, but not always and some defc. like S can be difficult to reverse,....

Any idea what the ppm of calmag should look like for coco?
