Is 3 weeks too late to start trying this?
Thanks, I'm only trying it on one plant this grow, I've used LST on photos outdoor late in the grow to keep them low, I just have zero experience with autos. I keep reading that autos are less forgiving than photos, so I just wanted to make sure I didn't stunt them too bad. How long do you keep yours tied down?I just want to say that I'm a new grower, so take my advice as you will. From everything I have read and watched, you can realistically use LST throughout the entire grow. So starting at 3 weeks is perfectly fine. If your branches are a bit thicker then you may need to do a little careful bending to get them looser. I currently have two northern lights autos at day 19 from sprout. I started training them both yesterday, and one of them has responded really well. The other, not so much. However the one that responded well has been the healthiest looking plant this grow, while the one that didn't respond well has been straggling behind.
IME, you can leave them tied down for however long you need to, but I find that I will end up adjusting the LST I do everyday. For instance if I tie down the plant on Tuesday, when you come back Wednesday it has already started growing back up, so you are kind of forced to adjust. I personally do not have any experience with photos, however I do think people give autos a lot less credit than they deserve. Definitely don't be afraid to mess around with them and abuse them a bit. That's the best way to learn in my opinion. Also it would be VERY difficult for you to stunt them with just LST.Thanks, I'm only trying it on one plant this grow, I've used LST on photos outdoor late in the grow to keep them low, I just have zero experience with autos. Week 3 is perfect mate, I find autos go mad when I start to lst them and I make adjustments right through to late flower
