Lowlife AK 47 X Hindu Kush NOT Germinating

Hi everyone. So far I have had my first two successful grows and am attempting to begin my third grow. For my third grow I choose 5 Lowlife AK 47 x Hindu Kush Feminized seeds I bought from Herbies a few months ago.

I'm using the exact same paper towel method to germinate that I used for my first two successful grows. For my first two grows, I germinated three Nirvana Auto Bubbleicious Feminized seeds with a 100% germination rate. For my second grow I germinated three Buddha White Dwarf seeds, again with a 100% germination rate. So I believe I know how to germinate in paper towels since I was 100% for my first two grows. Wet the paper towels with PH water until they are wet but not soaked, place seeds between the paper towels, put them in a sealed plastic container, and put them in my dark water heater closet next to a hot water pipe to keep them nice a warm, but not hot. Again, worked liked a charm twice and I had seeds that cracked and had nice long tap roots within 48 to 72 hours.

I did the same exact thing with my Lowlfe AK 47 x Hindu Kush Feminized seeds on Wednesday morning. Today is Saturday morning and still not one sign of life from any of the seeds. Today is the start of Day 4 of the wet seeds and I am beginning to stress and get anxious about their fate.

I've done some reading on this forum and other forums and think I've come across many people's thoughts and experiences on similar situations. I'm just posting here to help vent my concerns and frustrations and hopefully someone can either a) make me feel good about what's happening (actually, what's NOT happening) or b) tell me how to get these seeds to crack for sure or c) tell me that these are faulty seeds and I should try to get an exchange or refund for them.

What gives? Am I just being impatient? I know some seeds can take over a week to crack.

Thanks in advance!

:thumbs::wiz:You didn't say you soaked them in water for 24 hrs,before you put them in towls.This is what some growers do and the water soak helps them absorb water.They might be a slow germer so just keep them moist and warm and dark and wait for awhile longer and hopefully they will pop.I hardly doubt that all 5 seeds are duds so just be patienced.Germ karma coming your way.:smokebuds:

:dance:TBM,that avitar looks unproffesional go back to the other one.:crying:It looks like your showing a human side by making your avitar funny ,but we all now that your really asuper computer and have no feelings so don;t try and trick us and pretend to be human.:crying:

Yup, I knew it all along.Super funny,best laugh i had in a long time,peace brother!!!:smokebuds::crying:

I don't think seeds store well in a warm room. At least not to my experience. Temperatures above 90 degrees deteriorate the seeds quickly and lower the germination rate. I store my seeds in the freezer of my own pot fridge after I got kicked out of the kitchen fridge by my wife. I soak older seeds for 24 hours and if they are still floating after 24hours I poke them in the seam with an exacto knife and throw them back in the water to see if they will sink.

I don't use the paper towel method although I don't disagree with it. I use jiffy pucks. I use a plastic tray with clear cover and put the expanded pucks in the tray with little labels on cut up plastic strips and mark them with a sharpy.so I know what is in each jiffy puck. My final step is to take the seeds out of the freezer and put them into the swollen jiffy pucks. I plant them 1/4 inch deep. I put the tray onto a seed starting heating pad turned on low and let them pop.

I have very good luck with this method. My wife uses the paper towel method and has lately switched to my seed tray to hatch her pepper seed and know has better luck.

i "manage" my germs closely too.. one think you might try is dropping a tiny drop of h2o2 on them.

when a germ is taking a long time i do this every few days to kill any fungus or mold that may opportune.

So yesterday late afternoon I cracked all five seeds with a razor to the seams. I could see the white endosperm inside on each. I dropped them in PH water and they immediately sank. I them put them back in a fresh paper towel wet with PH water. Checked this morning. Still nothing.

:: Sigh ::

Oh, and thanks TBM. Herbies websites says they will exchange "faulty" seeds. I plan to simply state to them "I have reason to believe my seeds are faulty." I think that should suffice. Don't you?

Another day and still no life from the 5 Lowlife duds. I wet three Lowryder 2 and two Buddha White Dwarfs yesterday afternoon using the same paper towel method. After just 19 hours on the water heater, two of the LR2 beans have cracked with two little tiny white nubby roots peaking out. I'm 99% sure the other three will crack by this evening.

No question, the Lowlife seeds where 5 out of 5 duds :-(

I just emailed Herbies asking for an exchange. I'll keep you all posted.

BTW... Maybe that's why they're called Lowlife Seeds. There's a Low likelihood they will come to Life! LoL

BUSTED! :D

Now that is pure class love it :dance::clap:

Its such a shame there AK47 broke the mold in Autos I wonder why they went down the pan

I think all lowlife is old stock I wouldnt be surprised if they have been busted like BOG was back in the day

I came home for my lunch break to check on my newly wet seeds. All five of the Lowryder 2 and White Dwarf seeds have cracked and all five have nice little tap roots racing out of their shells. I'm going to plant the sprouts into Jiffy Pellets tonight. All five sprouted within 24 hours exactly as they should.

The Lowlife seeds are drying out so they will be ready to mail back to Herbies if Herbies requests them.

Clearly and undoubtedly bad seeds from Lowlife!!!
