Hey AFN, I have never lollipoped before but plan to. Is the same guidelines for photos the same for auto's? If you veg for 5-6 weeks when should you do it, day(s) range? Remeber hearing bottom 1/3 is that right? My 1st grow just lst only, heard that was all you could do. Well I now know that false! Thing is my current grow they were small until like day 37ish so didn't want to touch them, now I wish I would have. At what point are they big enough to do it? These mephisto were completely different than my cks. They got big by day 25 so thought cause of cold they were stunted. I was wrong.

You should not remove leaves to early in the veg state but wait until there in full flower. You can remove lower leaves that get no light but only do a few at a time so not to stunt the plant.

I can't answer your question, but I think you'll find it's different for every strain depending on how much it stretches or how bushy it is. Typically I just use my gut instinct and eye, what looks right. I ask myself "Can these buds get enough light without the canopy blocking it?" No? Snip. Do I need these growth tips when I already have 20+ at the top? No? Snip.

Not all, just the worst ones. I usually end up 6-10 inches above the top of my pot. I keep my plants very lean though, I defoliate and get a lot of tops.

Oh yeah I'm talking about manifolded plants and photo's. That's why I can't answer your question exactly.

I can remove whilet in flower, thought that would be bad? So like day 47 isn't too late? That would sound nice...

No it's not to late but as I said before unless there not recieving any light there is no real benefit to removing more leaves than nesesary.

Ok, I got you. I thought anything I did needed to be done before flower.

I agree with namy I lollipopping an auto an it ended badly, as in it stunted the plant. Take just a couple at a time and see how she reacts to it. Good luck and happy growing

the only time I will be easy is when I'm killed by death

I just got finished with a lollipopped wos nlbb auto. Go slowly. I went a set of branches at a time as they moved into the cut area., which necessarily wasn't 1/3 as much as keeping a canopy that's at most 18 inches high. But may I make a suggestion? If it's not a extremely dense canopy nor you don't have size restraints I'd recommend leaving it be, topping or continuing lst. The only reason I did, is the 1 gallon hempy grew her much larger than expected and I had numerous bigger pots in the area.

Nope not too late for sure sounds like it is right on time. Must know I am not a proponent of hst techs but if you are going to do one I would say lollipopping is the least effective due to the reasons said above. However there is some credible evidence that the "perceived attack" theory increases thc. So most know that thc oozes out of the cannabis plant in an effort to ward off pests so with some light defoliation the plant thinks it's getting attacked by bugs and produces more THC. So if it's bushy and covering up some budsites pluck some of those leaves off just don't go overboard lol

I lollipop mine now as I just don't want any popcorny shite buds low down. I do it when they are well into flower. Can't say that I've noticed any negative effects. I would say possibly it helps to swell the rest of the buds? Also the mention of plants producing THC to protect themselves, since I lollipopped my Alien vs Triangle there appears to be resin oozing from some of the fans. She is organic on biotabs so I know its not too much carboload or anything like that. She was also topped and supercropped on 4 main colas!

I think the right plants can take pretty much anything you throw at them.
